Went over and moved our old boat to a new slip so our old slip is ready for the new old boat. We have 3 coming to see it maybe one will be a buyer. So much scam out there.
Had to do it today low winds, tomorrow 33 mph, rest of the week higher winds then we want to deal with.

Had 4 other boaters jump in and help moving the lines moving the boat, whew no wrecks. The slip is a lot smaller than our slip. A tight fit.

Most have no idea how much wind plays with a boat especially when coming into the marina and docking and the 10's of thousands of dollars your maneuvering around. And to have someone come look at a boat god only knows if they know what they are doing. more then likely they have no insurance for a boat and if they hit someone else it's a night mare

We a guy that is working on his 75 foot boat drive ours. He slid it in like it was meant to be there, maybe 6 inches on each side.
No macho from us, ie let us do it we know what we are doing!
The other boaters and I handled the ropes, pulling it in the last bit. Then I did all the tie down.

We have to keep good insurance on the boat or they kick you out. Now you could insure show the policy then cancel, but no thanks. There are some darn expensive boats there.

He is going to help us learn the new boat, fly deck, side thrusters etc for the price of some honey!

that's interesting; I'd have thought insurance for boats would be similar to how auto insurance is here in Mi (but then, maybe other states don't do it this way) in that we have no-fault. I KNOW why they did this but sure makes it easier for the less than responsible drivers to have a license and continue afterwards. I'm sort of a 'owner responsible' person, so this has always ground on me a bit.

I would never drive a boat without insurance. We even have captain insurance on it so if we have someone else driving , a captain, if he harms the boat all is ok. The boats REPLACEMENT value, not what we paid, is 600k we have it insured at purchase cost, the insurance is more than the cost of every car we have insured for a year and more than our house insurance.

In the insurance, for the marina, you need to have named storm removal, ie your boat sinks it will be recovered and removed, gas spillage , level must be at 900k plus, don't recall the limit, ice damage, if you have your boat winterized and the engines get ice damage you are covered. Etc etc
And of course running into someone else.

I did not see any mention of no fault in the policy docs.

lol I was driving my Dad's pink station wagon. New driver taking one of the siblings somewhere. Trying to cross 4 lanes of traffic. Someone behind me started slamming on their horn, I went thought it was safe, it wasn't. Caught the back corner of the car. Of course as the police are there my dad drives up on his way home from work.

I NEVER AGAIN let a blowing horn make me do something I was not ready to. And if heavy traffic I turn right then come back.

When we did the open water cruise on the 20 foot boat before we purchased it, the salesman wouldn't let me drive it up to the dock. It wasn't even a slip. He knew I had 20 years experience on a 35 foot, mid range, flybridge cruiser with a 12 foot beam, that I have backed into a slip 100's of times. I gave him the helm, and he did a terrible job. Lol! Anyhow, I understood where he was coming from.

Four years ago I really wanted to make a Winter Olympics ornament but never got around to it. I'm a huge fan of winter sports.
I realized recently that it's already been four years and the winter olympics are coming up again, so I ended up designing a snowboard and finished it today. Not sure if I'm gonna attach a hook and twine; i might just prop it up on a shelf somewhere.

The only problem is, after I finished, I looked at it and realized it looks like a bandaid and now I can't unsee that.

WooHoo We have a contract on our SeaRay, they want to do a sea trial on Friday. They don't want a survey since we had it surveyed last year and just spent 10k to get one engine refurbished. This is one of those upside down sales.

If the sea trial goes fine, should, they will hand us a box of cash and drive the boat to NY on Saturday.

So now we need to crank and finish taking the bit of stuff we have left on the boat off.
