Well went out at 56 jeans sheat shirt getting ready to groom the lilies, finally. Got started pulled 4 out without issue, luckily the sun came out and now in t-shirt and shorts. Climbed to about 65, pond water 62. So I went wading, about 3 feet deep. Managed to grab one of the lilies rope on the pot and started pulling, geez heavy!

As I pulled the one the whole group is coming with it. Two of the lilies had jumped their pots. A oil pan of lilies and around 18 plus inches of roots, tubers and collected kitty litter and muck. Gross, no choice but to grab up in arms and haul onto land.

The tubers are over 3 inches in width and over a foot long. Around 4 of them and tubers in the pots.

They grow unreal when set free! but I can see how they would overtake a pond eventually. The pads are double the size of the tubers still in the pots, same plant. The tubers are also huge compared to the ones in the pots.

Waiting for the pond to clear some so I can see what I missed, I groomed around 15 of them today. They need a deep grooming ie dump the litter dump extra tubers get back to one or two per pot.

@addy1 what a job wrestling those lilies to the shore!
It was a job! I could barely get the mud mass out of the pond, a lot of kitty litter mixed in with the roots. Over the years litter has fallen to the bottom of the pond. And it still looks like litter. I was a wreck when done, covered with mud,. Still have 3 to fix ran out of energy!

Today is our last "warmish"day for a bit, rain coming this afternoon so need to crank on it. But first treat bees for mites, second, mow , third finish lilies. Or finish lilies then mow, mowing can wait, the grass is long...............I don't care it has been growing unreal with the rain and warm temps.

Makes it tempting to turn them loose, but no desire for the down the road mess. I did turn them loose in the 1000 gallon pond and they are also making huge leaves and blooming constanly. I need to wade in and groom back some of the stems. Still blooming still sending up flowers.

Once the water cleared found 3 more............sigh.............and had to save a few of the huge tubers cut them down to size. I am not sure, but right where the huge leaves were my wanvisa was blooming all summer. So might be one of them. Love that lily.

Done with the big pond, let the water clear then off with the pump and clean out the bog. The yellow flag needs a good chop back.

Hit the sky line this past weekend. If it is not on your bucket list is should be and rent at least a convertible to do it in. pictures do not do it justice.
