I know people are upset at the younger people who seem to show little regard for this virus, but I think many of us in our teens or 20s were pretty cavalier about mortality. When you're young and healthy it's easy to think nothing will stop you.

However, I can't honestly say that all the older folks are all that much better. While they may not be congregating on the beach or traveling the country, the older folks I know (my own 80 year old mother included) aren't all taking the "shelter in place" recommendations seriously either. My mom is carrying on like it's just another day. I call her daily to urge her to just stay home and within minutes of my call I can see she's on the road (don't tell her I can track her phone!) Local grocery store 2x a day, department store, bank, another grocery store further from home. And this is a woman who has enough food in her house to feed a large family for a month - she needs nothing. Yesterday she had to "run out" to get some ingredient so she could make a meal and go serve the homeless men at the shelter. Tomorrow she's cooking for the "wayward girls home". She's a hospital volunteer and would not stop showing up there until they literally shut the volunteer program down. She made a pot of soup and carried batches of it all over town to deliver to her friends. And she's not the only one - my DIL called her grandma and she was out shopping: "It's senior discount Wednesday!". Her other grandparents - at the health club! "We go to swim! The chlorine will kill everything!" My elderly neighbors are upset that their casino trip got cancelled - they don't know why other people are making decisions for them. And many of my friends can share the same stories about their elderly relatives. We have a group of men who meet for coffee every morning at the local coffee shop. When they told them they couldn't congregate there, they posted a sign on the door - "everyone meet at Tom's house for coffee until further notice".

The people I'm talking about are all 75 years old and up. The most vulnerable age group of all. Maybe they feel like they've only got so many good years left - they aren't going to waste any of it sitting at home. They announced early shopping hours for those 60 and up at most grocery stores in our area - just checked on my mom. She's out the door at 7AM.

God yes! My store has a group of older folks who like to get coffee and chat for a few hours, they got mad when we had to tell them they can’t. I see folks in gloves, hand to face, and folks with masks, and folks who just don’t care. While I’m not concerned about myself with this virus, I do worry about sharing it if I get it. Dad has heart issues, step dad has many issues, so neither one should be exposed if I can help it.

Now I am reading , from reliable sources, you should take off whatever you wear out in public as soon as you get home. Wash asap. Keep separate from other clothing, including coats wash them.

Use as hot, as the clothes can handle, water.

We had our first fatalities in Wisconsin yesterday. Two men, one in his 50's, and I think they said the other was in his 90's.
Milwaukee's mayor is self-quarantining after coming in contact with someone who has it.

Grocery store was packed this morning. Lines down the aisles. Zero distancing. Got some food, but no toilet paper yet.

I only read that up to the word "public".

You should've seen the look on people's faces today in the grocery store when I took off what I was wearing. "Addy told me to!" I shouted.

but I finally got my toilet paper!

I am avoiding stores as much as possible and washing hands when I get home. wiping off steering wheel. We don't have a lot of cases in Texas, I avoid most people anyway, seems to help. Really avoiding my children. one has no respect for personal space, so she's on the banned list..

Hubby, salesman and old owner took the boat on a hour maiden voyage to move it to the new marina.

At the old marina, balanced the tv on the fridge, forgot our co ax cable to attach to the antenna, we had 3 public stations to watch. The small piece of co ax we had only reached so far lol

The owner had leased a slip at a new marina, we took over the lease. This one comes with wifi, cable tv, and utilities.

Sitting on our new old boat at a very quiet marina, it is still cold for the average boater.
Had a great anniversary hubby and I. Socially isolating.

Very cool!

I went out on Lake Michigan on my dad's friend's boat when I was a kid. That was the day I found out about sea sickness. :vomit:
