Collen....we have 4 kids total. I have 2 from previous relations, she has one and we have one together. That one just turned one during vacation. Her name is Eden Joelle. She is so much fun! That pic was taken at Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta on her birthday. She had just gotten her birthday ice cream

Wow your sure a "busy" dad, that's lots of kids these days, and a pond too! Kids helping dad with pond yet?? Sounds like you got your hands full! Life must be rewarding! I just got two puppies to love and a hubby that works all the time, and lots of kids next door that love to come visit my pond everyday!

oh ya, the weather, nice this morning, temp 74 degrees, light breeze in the trees, birds singing they hearts out, and small high clouds dotting the horizon. Had lots of rain the other night, so garden still good, grass still green, although the prairie grass on hills is brown now.

My grass is greening up, amazing considering how dead and brown it was. Woohoo! Mowed on Sat. to knock down the higher stuff, as in the last 9 weeks (as of last weekend), I had mowed only one other time. Unbelievable for around here. I don't hardly remember going more than 3 weeks, but 9??? Nice and cool this a.m., 65 and slight breeze. Felt more like 50 after the 90's we had been having, but I loved it! Windows open, sleeping really well, yep, I agree, Colleen, wish it would stay like this all the time! But, getting back up to 90's tomorrow. Yuck! Good news is that my sister from WI is coming, and we are planning on pool time at our cousin's house, Holiday World in IN (wet and dry parks) and State Fair! So, hot is good for 2 of those three. Oh, and going horseback riding the other day she will be here. Full schedule!

Yes its never boring at our house. On top of our kids my wife runs a in home day care that is 24/7. We had some bad experiences with our middle one when she was in daycare so we decided to open our own daycare and not do the things we didn't like when ours were in daycare. So far its working out great. Our parents stay and chat in the afternoon, the kids love coming and the parents are happy. We have a waiting list now for spots. Our 2 oldest love to help with the pond especially when I'm in the pond changing light bulbs in the pond lights.

About 2 months after Eden was born we got a 8wk old pure breed beagle puppy. So he and Eden can grow up together. He is great with all the daycare kids and the baby. I wouldn't change my busy life for anything.

Sissy, remember my hyacinths, all dying? I put the remaining hanging on ones in a 5 gal bucket. They survived and started growing. Now I have them in 3 big pots, along with the weigelia from the pond, and they are blooming! Go figure! So, that being said, what in the world killed them in my pond? Same water used for the pots (although there is clay, but nothing but water in the bucket that they got going again in ...) and no water movement, so maybe that was it? In the pond they were in a netting, so figured nothing was eating the roots. Anyhow, I CAN have hyacinths, just not in my ponds for some reason. Loved the blooms! Here it is blooming in the pot.

Storm followed my hubby home, rained like crazy, everything soaked, pond full to top and then some.... still raining lightly, no thunder anymore so Poppy finally settled down, going to tuck her into bed with hubby tonight! Poppy just loves him, she follows him everywhere! Right now she reached up her little paw to his arm to tell him it is bedtime!! Awe! My little family:)

Rain and 51, I'm thankful that we had no lightning. We already have several fires going in the state because of lightning. Today in the 70's it will be a nice change from the 90's.

I found the same thing thats why I tried them other places .They seem to like growing in my filters

same thing with the water lettuce ,go figure .I think they like there roots more shaded not sure .I did add miracle grow to the concrete mixing tub and the lettuce is growing like crazy .I think next year I will put a lot of them in the stock tank again .I have even given lots of it away

I started with 2 really healthy ones in here and the rest I moved to the stock tank that I over wintered .I have not gotten any blooms yet but sure is pretty and may still get one ,you never know

Nice lettuce Sissy in your stock pond, did you try putting some back in the pond in a large group to see how they do now?
I do that with the extra Hornwort later in the year, warmer water conditions allow hornwort to outgrow what the fish eat.

Cold here today, not even 60 degrees, sucks cause after all that rain yesterday, and added cool weather, now my bones feel it, could hardly walk around the house this morning for a short while, I swear if I quit moving around my bones might "freeze up" someday.

Going to take my coffee outside and chase the sun today, feel like I need a good "baking". Might have to wait till this afternoon to get baked in the sun, seems overcast right now. :l

My friend feeds her koi peas, she says they love peas and it's a real treat for them, going to try one day when I have a bag of frozen peas in the fridge... I hate canned peas, yuk!

Oh, just now, the sun came out, going to lay in sun and soak it up right now!
