Addy, I hope you get luckier than me. They said 50-40% chance of rain, this afternoon around 2, radio station said "severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m." ... we got nothing. Ho hum ... like a broken record. It was hot, too, 103 at lunchtime. But, tomorrow supposed to be cooler, and Sat. they are saying maybe only 89!
On a good note, I put two one-way valves in my lines tonight (thinking if storms hit, may lose power, and didn't want bogs to drain down), needed to have done that for months. Well, it's done, and in the meantime, I went into both ponds, groomed the lilies, played with the fish and frogs, got truly up close and personal to many frogs. They just sat on the lily pads as I had a conversation with them, pulling away others right next to them. It's like they understood I was not going to bother then. Or, maybe they thought I had a few grasshoppers in my back pocket! I've been tossing some in when I water, and they jump around. Bully gets the big ones, and the medium sized frogs get the smaller ones, and if I am lucky enough to catch a little grasshopper, I've fed them to the babies, who are glad to have the food!
I think if my had was a net, I could have caught most of my fish this evening. Most were swimming next to me, and I would reach down and cup them in my hand, and none seemed to be worried about it at all. Spotted more babies in the goldfish pond, too.
