Working is overrated!
My honey learned to love this area, his grandparents lived down here, his parents drove them down for visits. Then his parents moved down. When his mom got Alzheimer he started coming down every 6-8 weeks as it got worse to check on them, help out, make sure the hired nurses were doing their job, for around 15 years. In the process of doing that he was unable to just sit around watching the slow down slide of his mom. He started buying foreclosures and worked on them to fix up for rent.
I joined the check in visits around 6 years ago, I was never here before that. My aunt lived on the bay side, near tampa. I was there long time ago, teenage years.
We bought one of the houses here as a foreclosure just to have something to do, and a place to stay when here. Our other place is 5 houses from his parents house. Hard to sleep in a house kept at 80 plus. Then we bought his parents house from his brothers. So now we have a vested interest in this area.
