Foggy here and in the 40's. Sun will make an appearance today. Guess I can't put off cleaning that pre-filter now can I?

Were supposed to have snow on Sunday, then Monday Tuesday it is going Way down below freezing, like hard core winter coming, but hopefully just for a few days cause I still got lots to do and between work and home I am starting to run out of time to get everything down! In the morning I will get the last fish out of the front yard pond and put them back into the back yard pond for winter and then pump out the water in the little front yard pond.

Well I hope you mean snow coming to MD and not Florida addy! Ha Ha I know you do.

Cold here now at 33 but sun is out in it's full color. @callingcolleen1 I cleaned my pre-filter but when I put it back in for the winter I left out the inner core so as to allow more water flow through the outer media so it won't for sure plug up at all but will still circulate the water to the falls good. Same amount of flow coming from the falls w/or w/o the core in there. I don't have a real hard water fall pounding down on the surface anyways so it doesn't create a heavy cold flow moving all through the pond at a fast rate. Fish can find calmer waters in there to relax and enjoy the long winter.

I leave my inner core in but switch to a smaller pump, like 2000 to 3000 GPH. I have so much to do and so little time to get it all done, winter will be here tomorrow, and I have to run to work, so I will have to do it in the dark tonight....

I just didn't want to take the chance of it building up gunk and then in the worst part of winter I would be out there trying to clean it and I only have one pump that will work w/that filter. I've used this coarseness of media before in another type of pot filter and it never clogged up so hoping this won't either. The inner core does a great job and catches lots of stuff but does clog and slow the falls way down when full and not going to take the chance that it might over winter. Getting much colder here at night. Think it got down to freezing or below last night as it's only 35 right now and the sun is shining in it's full glory!

Went on a nice bike ride today. Was cold but sunny. On the way home through town a massive huge bunch of Bandido motorcycle guys were just leaving. I was riding my bike side by side w/ them as they left and they didn't even kill me. They had a Santa Clause on one of their bikes. Must be trying to do some good raising money for some cause. Too bad they don't be good all the time.

That must have been freaky seeing them ride right by you so close! :nailbiting: Sometimes when gangs ride into our town, they are followed to the outskirts of town by local police, then you read about it in the news paper the next day.

Winter is coming tomorrow!! :arghh::arghh::arghh: Save Me!!! It's supposed to drop off suddenly by Monday, and a ton of snow may be on the way! I don't want to stop playing out in my bug free zone outside, where I have further wintered it by adding plastic and sealing it tight. I just want it to keep nice till spring, and with the plastic I can have a sunny area on nice days, if any more are coming! :grumpy:

I have worked all night, and these days it is dark before I get home after work now, like at 5 PM! The days are so short now, and OMG I just looked out the window and its Snowing like Crazy and I am suddenly shivering Cold!!!!
