Just got a small blast of Summer today. 70° and humid. windows are open and I'm fully enjoying it. A frog is even sitting out for the first time in weeks.

Its going to change though. Back to 40s in two days. Lows in the 20s by the weekend.

I seen one of those on TV JW, , they are big and bouncy and you can roll down a hill inside them!

Going way way down to 20 Fahrenheit tonight (-7 Celsius) so I need to get much work down removing all the stuff I wish to save and get them inside the greenhouse tonight!

(I posted this on the Good Banter thread, too)
Hey, all, I finally found time ... and the guts LOL ... to call Sissy this afternoon! She is just fine, been VERY busy, not had time to be on Forum. I told her we were all concerned, and that I would report she is doing well. Her aunt in AZ was sick, and she went there to help take care of things, and put her in a nursing home. The aunt has Alzheimer's and I believe Sissy said her aunt's daughter has breast cancer. She said the pooches were in good hands with her hubby while she was away, as they all love him dearly!
While Sissy was gone to AZ, someone tried to break into their house in VA, while her hubby was home!!! Evidently the intruder(s) cut the wires to the surveillance cameras. So, when she returned home, she bought new ones and installed them herself! Image that! She was explaining how she went up in the attic and ran wires from the soffit through the attic ... She said two other neighbors had attempted break-ins, too, and one neighbor had 2 windows broken and a tv stolen. Sissy had an extra tv that she gave to the neighbor, since they could not afford a new one. Sissy to the rescue!
Then, her holding tank for their well broke. She just had it replaced last year, and that one was bad, so she had to replace it again, as there was a recall. Evidently the new one was bad, too. Handy Sissy to the rescue, although she's tired of replacing them. Said she had to replace the whole house filter this time, too. She is checking with her insurance company for reimbursement.
Today she was fixing lunch for her hubby, burgers, and shut off the grill after she put cheese on, and came into the house. Came back out and the grill was on fire! The burgers were charred but she laughed it off, "I had more burger."
I asked her how her pond was doing, and she said, "Great!" When I asked if she is still having trouble with the neighbor's dogs, she said she is, but put another camera close to the pond, and she has volume turned up on that at night, so will know if anything comes near her pond, hopefully.
After all this, I laughed and told her again I want to move to VA when I retire, so I can learn things from her, and help her help others! We laughed, and then she told me about telling a friend of a house for sale close by, they wanted $89,000. She knew it was close to foreclosure, so told her friends to offer $60,000. They ended up getting the place with 2.3 acres and all sorts of porches (screened and not) for $69,000! Sissy sure knows her housing prices over there. LOL
Oh, and she said she fired up her computer and checked e-mails, and there were 15 pages of mail she needed to go through. LOL That's going to take a while! I told her I would update everyone, as so many were asking about her. :)
Sorry I took so long to call her. I was seriously worried about getting bad news, but finally just dialed and when I heard her voice, I was sooo relieved! It was great talking to her again, too! Woohoo!!! We all love you Sissy!!!

Glad to hear sissy is fine and her hubby too but sad about her other family members. Sissy is such a caring do for others person. Sorry she is having so much trouble w/ break ins and broken things. Sure hope she gets things up and running again and can come back to us soon. Thanks CE for getting a hold of her for all of us. Lucky you and your warm temps....................we are cold here now and burning our wood stove every night.

Last night I decided to pull the plants out of the pond that were in pots and put them down stairs for the winter. It was 31 and the water dripping off the pots and falling on the deck was freezing really fast. Bottom of pond was 42.6 so I decided to shut down the waterfall and turn on the aerator. Today reaching a high of 50 so I will turn the waterfall back on. The low for the extended forecast the next 10 days is 35. Guess we'll see. (n)

We are expecting our first frost end of the week. Supposed to get down to 30 on Fri. night. Got the other half of my yard mowed last night (main part was mowed on Thurs for company that came on Fri. for the weekend), and then got .6" of rain during the night. Grass is still growing really well, but that will change with the temps dropping, too. Wish I had had time to mow the whole yard last night, but maybe this weekend can get it all done. It IS almost November, after all. Would be happy if one more time mowing everything would do it for the year, and that may just be this coming weekend.

Yep, sorry about that, Addy. I check my daughter's weather in UT, and when I see it much cooler than me, I know the cold is heading my way, too. Oh well, it is almost November, and this has been record high, at least that's what the radio guy said yesterday. I'm ready for some cooler weather. 60's and 40's would be wonderful, IMO, for this time of year.

It's extremely wet out but surprisingly not raining and the sun is trying so hard to break the clouds. Got our lawn mowed yesterday and doubt that it will be the last time here. Don't want the cold to come but we had a nice Summer and a decent Fall till the rains decided to visit. Fire every night now in the wood stove from now till Spring or longer

THE SUN BROKE THROUGH
