On an unbelievable streak of perfect weather.
75 and sunny. this is probably about day #10 of nearly identical weather. small chance of rain tomorrow but other than that, another 75 degree day. then we drop to 65 on Tuesday. Rumors of a drop to the 50s next weekend :(

Overcast and 64F outside but feels much colder. I haven't fed in a couple of days but the water temp is 56F so I fed them a little wheatgerm.

You just never know about algae. I haven't fed for a couple of days, there is no Sun and the water is cool, yet there's been some new algae growth. All of that is supposed to be opposite to what is conducive to algae growth.

We have sun up north here John and I am enjoying the last of it as I think the rain is coming back tomorrow. Still feeding my fish summer food. They are gobbling it up.

algae aways grows good in cool months cause the plants are dying back and not sucking up so much nutrients anymore. Algae grows well for me all winter long. The hornwort is still growing good for me so no algae yet in main ponds, but front pond has no hornwort, so I am getting algae there right now.

Same here, JB, about the last 10 days as perfect as a person could possibly ask for. 70's to 80's for highs, 50-60 for low. Love sleeping with the windows open. The farmers have not started farming around my house, so until that happens, I will enjoy the windows open. It's pretty dry out there, crops are coming out really fast so far! Threat of rain on Thurs., but we sure need it to settle the dust. Could use a couple of inches and it would soak in, I believe. But, cool weather has grass growing in leaps and bounds, soooo green and pretty!
Went riding yesterday, did the whole circle around Forbes Lake. Not sure how many miles, but I think it's about 18. Joe and I moved out on our mounts (he was on my Fox Trotter mare, and I was on my beloved mule, Clyde) and made the circle in just over 4 hours. Tried to get some pics of the fall colors, but new camera does not take as clear of pics as my old one did. Still figuring it out ... or maybe it's a bad one! It's the next model up, but for some reason on sport mode, pics were mostly blurry ... I think it's the settings, so I have to check further. Anyhow, here are a couple that turned out ok.

Looks like a lovely place CE to take a nice peaceful ride through the fall colors. Pouring rain here right now and my sis just left here awhile ago to drive home. Hope she made it safely as she is still recovering some from her surgery.

Driest September on record in North Texas. At the moment I hate this place. Even though I'm living in what is supposedly "the best place to live" according to Money Magazine. Hardly feels like it.

Only saving grace and this point is El Nino. Bring on the rain!!!

I think the best place to live is wherever you WANT to be. Could be a small home in the city, or a large home in the country ... or visa versa. But, it's your HOME, and no matter the weather, there are good and bad times everywhere, but you are home. :) My home is not perfect, I would love to have woods close by, and a stream. But, I find more and more reasons to love my flat yard, with no trees within a mile except the few on my 6 acres. The rains will come, hope sooner rather than later for you, Fountain Man!
