95 and 105 heat index and supposed to be like this until next tuesday .Heat I don't mind but the humidity is terrible .I guess it will be work outside in the morning and at night and day we will hide inside like prisoners ..When i went to Danville today I saw something i never thought I would see ,businesses had large insulated coolers out side with cups that just said cold water to drink .

I am house bound once it over 83 or so, can't handle the heat. Deal with the cold a whole lot better. So now in the house by 10 am or so if not earlier.

Well the clouds got tired of hanging in the sky today. They came down for a rest!

Good News!! The flood thread looks like it won't happen today!! I guess they received less rain than they thought, and much of it fell as snow in the higher elevations so that will take longer to melt. That is a big relief!!!
You are right John Huff, the cold weather and water causing delay in filters maturing proper. I also noticed that the cold water is delaying the growth of my hornwort, which like the water to be warm, so I am still having some string algae issues here and there, as the algae will still grow very good in the cold, so it is beating the hornwort right now!
Rain has stopped, hoping that the sun will shine really bright today!!!

Aha Colleen that must be why my Hornwort is just sitting there not doing much. No sunny warmth to make it grow. I hope I don't lose it to the fish cuz I know they eat it.

Still cloudy here and I knew it would never get to 70 yesterday. They are saying again it will get to 70 today..................coo coo birds

Yes JW, it is true, the cold water is not conductive to horn-wort growth. Usually by now the water is warm and things like the tropical floaters are growing good, but not this year, it has been pretty cool and wet. It is raining again and barely 60 degrees right now. Water is cool after all the rain too.
Sissy go have coffee and hide from that storm, maybe it will cool things off for you!
Today somewhere in Canada...

Rained off and on all day today. We got 2 inches. Cleared for awhile and now light rain again. 74 degrees, still very humid.
Sunny, hot and humid tomorrow.
