104 here right now. I'm so glad I have My cheap gazebo to shade my pond right now, the fish all seem happy still and water feels cool to the touch still. I'm getting sick of sitting in the dark all day from closing all the curtains though...starting to go a little stir crazy

It felt like that today at work. Right before I left work today, the air temp in my welding area was 107*. You add the humdity too that and it made for one miserable day. 3 people got sent to the hospital for heat exposure. I can honestly say that today was the worst day so far in my 7 years of welding.

Oh the bright side of things, its a nice and cool 64* in my basement.

Koiguy, I "liked" it, and so did Fishin. It's a hoot, especially since I have a mom and sister and BIL in AZ that are ALWAYS saying that ... "It's a dry heat". Pish posh! Heat is heat .... humidity during the day is LOWER than at night, if you check with weather.com. I asked about that, and my Jr. High Science teacher daughter informed me something about the moisture being able to get into the air easier when the temperatures are lower, that's why the humidity goes up during the night, when the temps go down.
I just looked at my indoor/outdoor temp/humidity gauge. At the moment, the receptor or whatever it is call that is attached under my soffit on the north side of the house, is in the sun, and it's reading 111 degrees and ... get this ... 16% humidity! In the house it's 77 and 50% humidity. So, I looked up my area on weather.com, and it's showing 100 degrees here and 25% humidity. And, as a comparison, right now in "dry heat" AZ, it's 114 and 14% humidity!!!
So, we are all told that "humidity is very high" when in fact it's not during the day, but IS during the night.
If anyone knows a different place to look for the humidity, I'd like to know! I may be way off with this, but always wondered why they say the humidity is high, when in fact the heat is high, but not the humidity according to the website I typically look at.

Got heat lighting rolling through now, was hoping the rain would follow, but it's been 45 minutes and not a drop has fallen. Might still happen, but not going to hold my breath now.

Finally a nice warm day yesterday, (75) but had to work all day, never got a chance to lay and soak up the sun. River was nice, grassy areas for puppies to play and swim. Baby geese were swimming in tall grass that was flooed with water. Bear being a "bird dog" wanted to swim and catch one, he couldn't even get close, like baby geese can run on water! Buy the time I got my camera out they were gone! Should be nice a warm today, off work early today, will lay in sun this afternoon. Poppy was eating grass yesterday. :)
