Yep walmart Special Kitty here also. It's like under $5. for a 25 lb bag. Ours is a red bag but some places it is a blue bag.

The 40 lb bag comes out to be .1247 a lb tractor supply
the 7 lb bag is .1428 a lb
walmart .14.36 a lb

so right now tractor supply 40 lb is the best deal

Thing is you cannot keep it too long I found it absorbs moisture and starts to smell funny ,In my basement the mice get at it also .I really don't use that much of it .I only have the 2 lotus and 1 lily and the grasses are planted in gravel .I guess if you were planting a lot it would be worth it .I also add crushed oyster shells to my kitty litter .I found it helps the pond stay clear .

JW, if you need something to hold the bottle caps in your filter, use a laundry bag that is made to put things in like bras and such, to keep them from getting tangled in the rest of the laundry. Mesh bags, very cheap at the Dollar stores.
Tonight, 75 degrees when I got home from work, guys working on the front of the roof. Got it half torn off in just 2 hours! They really worked hard! Then put a HUGE tarp on the torn off part.

Tomorrow, hopefully get the rest torn off, and Sat. put the metal on. I'm loving it!!! Oh, and I toted torn off shingles across the roof to the trash bin.
Flowers are finally starting to bloom here. Daffodils, crocuses and first hyacinth this morning.

CE the house is looking wonderful!
Today was a absolutely beautiful day! Got the pond cleaned up and the pumps going now. Can all ready see a difference in the water. Fish are really starting to come alive, eating on the celery coming up. They seem to like the flowing water alot.

Did get the mulch for around the pond and did some of it .

I am the only one that in my area that I have seen do this and I am surprised that more people don't do this. For mulch I use leaves. During the fall I rake them into piles then bag them up with the lawnmower with a mulching blade on it and that chops them up real nice. Then just spread them out on my beds. It has a real natural look to it, they really do a lot when it comes to weed control and its free. I have never had a problem with them blowing or washing away and with the weather conditions that I put up with, that says a lot. I will get some pics posted.
85 today and 90 tomorrow.

Ah, that makes sense now. I was wondering in your other pictures how they finished off the ridge, but they're not done yet. The roof's looking good!
You'll have to let us know how much more you can hear the rain.
I like it myself.
