I have a Boston, and any terrier will dig up moles, but as Mitch says, then the human has to repair the damage from the dog. Where I live, no moles. Not a one. I imagine it's because it would have to travel over a mile on flat open ground (or in a tunnel) to get to my 6 acres, but that mile would be on farm ground where the chemicals have probably killed all the grubs, bugs, etc. that they would feast on. So, it's likely the only way I will EVER get a mole on my property would be if someone did a mean trick, and dropped off a few here! Yet another reason my property is a good place to live.
Not liking that my roof got serious damage in the last wind storm 2 weeks ago. Waiting for the insurance adjuster, who was booked out 3 weeks before he could make it to my house, due to all the storms in this state over the last couple of weeks! I would not like his job, driving from town to town, writing up estimates. Thinking it might help my cause if I'm home, to try to sweet talk him, just in case he only wants to write up for half of my roof replacement. Front faces west, where the winter storms/winds typically come from. I am secretly hoping I get a really bad E/SE wind to damage the back side as badly. The guy that gave me estimate said the back was also bad, just not standing up like the front shingles. Hoping what State Farm pays me, plus my tax refund, will get me a brand new steel roof without any more money out of my pocket, but we shall see ....
Temps went up to 56 here today, ground is thawed up on the top 2" or so, but frost still in the ground. Spring peepers were reported south of me about 20 miles. The old wives tale is 3 freezes/frosts (depending on who tells it) after the first peeper is heard, before spring is here to stay! So, bring on the freezes/frosts, I say!
