On vacation Addy? Must be a "bummer" not to be enjoying this cool weather.

Right now, I wish I were there, too! Last time I was in Florida in winter it was 86-92 F and we were swimming with the manatees in Crystal River. Then we boated out into the gulf, beyond the sight of land with the waverunner and found a sandbar clear out there where Sue and I had a beer picnic and collected shells and rocks in the warmth of the sun! Wish I were somewhere that warm right now!

Honey retired on the 2nd of jan we were in the car driving down on the 3rd. We are sort of vacationing, sort of snow birding, working on his late parents house, remodeling, enjoying the great weather, working on the house, goofing off, working on the house. So it is a mix. It is nice to have a place to come and stay for "free" there are expenses keeping the house, but it is paid for, in a 55 plus community, sort of like a duplex. Car port in between two houses.

He has been coming down for years taking care of his parents. When they passed we acquired the house, from his two brothers it was willed to.

I have friends babysitting our home in maryland, enjoying the cold weather, sending up photos of the downed trees, ice, snow. And I check on all the nice weather from here via our cameras.

Good that you have someone watching your home. That is a must in this weather as well as for protection from burglaries. And you certainly picked a good time to get away to a warmer clime!

I am alive!! Freezing cold and no end in sight till next week!! Minus 27 Celsius or (-18 F) your choice!! With the wind chill factor it is -39!!! Can't wait till the yellow ball in the sky rises this morning, cause later this afternoon it will warm us up to a nice Minus 14!! that will be half as cold as it is right now!! Puppies are hiding in the bedroom den, afraid to make a noise or I might make them go outside and make a "p"! Poppy said she will wait till it warms up!!

Hope you have plenty of wood, gas, oil or coal or electricity to keep you from freezing! Right now, I am certainly glad that I am not on propane heat! Sheesh! Have you seen the prices? Wise to have a LARGE propane tank and buy on a contract basis!

I looked up the weather for places in Montana earlier. Lewistown was heading for a low of -34 F! They are at -29 now.

gordy, we have plants, fish tank, pond, all need an eye on them. I pay a kid to keep the wild bird feeders filled, they hold 20 lbs of food at a time, two of them. the birds are inhaling the food. He has loaded them twice so far.

my wife told me the fish are swimming!

Last night was FrIghTfuLLy CoLD!! Was down to minus 39 with the wind chill, warming up now but the wind is howling over the frozen hard ice and snow, chillying the finger to the BoNe!
Aliens have taken over the tablet screen!! Just look at them all running about!! That is what happens when the "Siberian High" moves over that land! It can also cause "Brain Freeze" Then You might see Aliens and things really do go "Bumb" in the night!! (mini "IceQuakes" caused by the ground moisture expanding and contracting) Hey I can't make this stuff up! THere REALLY is such thing as an Ice Quake!! Seen it on the Weather Network, that is why the house and ground creaks and moans when it is extremely cold! It's True!!
Pond is REALLY frozen after the extreme cold last night, with the wind chill it was Minus 39!!
They really are comming to take me away now ...
