You guys are braver than me. It was a day off for me yesterday, so I did a run into town to pick up a few things. I couldn't get out of town fast enough after I was out driving out around some of the malls! :moped:

We have a few more days of warm weather here then next week another cold period. Next Thursday it's supposed to only reach a HIGH of -20C/-4F.
Time to hunker down for another week.

It has been quite nice here too, have not had to plug in pond heater now for a few days, water open and ice still left on bottom pond as usual.

Currently a couple degrees above freezing, no wind to speak of, and the toxic landfill fire is still burning, but smoke is not drifting my way too much these days. They don't let the school kids outside to play much these days if there is smoke in the air.

Very Sad Breaking News .... yesterday in the local paper, a horse that was evacuated last week from the toxic fire evacuation zone, has now died.... and people that live close to the area, were strongly advised to test their water, as well and cistern water most likely comtaminated!

Meanwhile today's Front page news, Westar operations (they own the stinkin toxic landfill) has been "slammed" for dumping tires, propane tanks, fridges, paint, among other stuff, into the "Class Three landfill" when such materials should have gone to a "Class one or Two landfill"!! Landfill fire still raging inferno and this is day 12!!!!!!!!!!!!

Environment Minister "VERY CONCERNED" about Westar fire.....

Wow, that's awful about that landfill fire! Sounds extremely dangerous. Be careful with yourselves and animals, for sure!
It was in the 40's here today, sunny all day. I left house at 7 a.m. (25 minute drive to town) to do my version of Black Friday shopping! The first 2 stores started their big deals last night, so they were not very crowded, got in and out pretty quick, no more than 5 minute wait at the checkout. Then went to Menards, my favorite place to shop (like Lowes and Home Depot), as their big deals started at 6 a.m. I knew the back garden center check outs were open, so only stood in line 10 minutes at most. Mainly got items for the dogs. LOL Home by 9:40, so that's my version of Black Friday shopping. I NEVER go at the time they open for the BIG deals, as the people are crazy, and get vicious. Stores have learned to change things so this doesn't happen in the future, as they get responsible for the fights that happen in line.
Hope all had a very Happy Thanksgiving and great weekend.

At least I am far enough away from the fire .... I think! And very glad the smoke not drifting this way these days! The County of Cypress is paying for Hellfire Suppression services to the tune of millions! They said they will sue to get the money back and get help from the provincial govement too. They said if left alone that fire could burn for over five years!!! The landfill is very very deep and they have to dig out the pit.

Just Now it stinks in my house!! Some fat puppy blew a leftover moose fart!! At least that won't kill me!! Ha ha ha

Going to be a very nice weekend full of sunshine. Ponds had lots of ice, Skippy froze at top, and somehow had water leaking around the ice flow, level went down some, and skimmer floated up. So .... koi pond has only aerator running. Goldfish pond has all running still, even with 75% of pond froze over, skimmer running stream and underwater pump running the bog. Need to just give up on the waterfall for winter or rebuild it so it works better, less chance of any water getting away. But, ice is thawing out in these sunny days with south winds. Going to put up outside Christmas decorations today and tree up tomorrow. Trying to pace myself with my sore back. Still not back to perfect, but the meds are sure making it bearable!
