Out of surgery. The litropisy did no good for the stone. It cracked it but did not bust it apart. I guess it was really hard to bust up with the lazer. He got it broke up and was able to pull some out. Have catheter and stint in place now for a few days. Pain was so bad I broke blood vessels in my eye. Again. Thanks for the prayers. Have never had this type of pain

Wind blew pretty hard up here today and hubby said a lot of pine needles fell into the pond and by looking at my deck I believe it. :( We did have it tarped but ended up taking it off cause the pine needles we're still making it through ( we have used the same tarp for the last couple of years and we didnt have that many pine needle falling into the pond ). Anyway he netted out what he could and then turned the pump in the skimmer on for acouple hours. By the time I got home from work pond looked good. I can't believe I haven't pulled the pump out of the skimmer and that I'm still using it occasionally. I'm begining to see myself outside in really cold weather cleaning out the waterfall Brrrrrrrrrrrr :(. Currently 33F outside.

MT, I wonder if the timing of the leaves and pine needles happened differently this year. For instance, maybe the leaves were on the netting previously when the pine needles fell, so the leaves caught most of the needles, but this year the leaves were blown off and that's why more needles.
I need to net my ponds today or this weekend, get leaves out. I've got more leaves in the pond than I remember from lat year. I guess more blew in than before. All of my large maple trees are 100' away from pond or more, but they blow much farther than that. Winds must have been from SE to get so many into the pond. Oh, and the 12' tall tree "stump" had quite a lot of branches and leaves at the top this year, so most of those fell into the ponds. I had the tree cut off, but decided to leave the trunk so I could hang bird feeders on it. Someone told me to let it sprout at the top and grow, that would keep the roots alive, and the trunk would last longer. We shall see. Funnies part of that situation was that a robin figured out to build her nest on the top of the trunk ... 12' up ... and it was perfect spot. Babies had a "deck" of about 16" diameter to be their take-off platform, and the branches completely surrounded the nest to guard it from the weather. :blueflower:
Here's the tree. Can you see the nest and babies? :cheerful:

It's 62 here right now, sunny all day, but having to deal with pretty swift winds. Got a lot of fall clean up done this morning. Now inside enjoying late lunch with my brother, who is visiting from Champaign, 90 minutes north of me. I always enjoy him coming for a visit when the weather is nice, so we can do stuff outside, although his health is not real good. He still hangs out and helps out as much as he can and enjoys it. Worst part is following him around (not literally ...) and cleaning up after him. Geesh ... picking up his dishes, flushing the toilet and putting the lid down, cleaning up after his messes when he eats, and telling him to wipe his mangy mustache. LOL Oh well ... it's only for the weekend, and we make the best of it. That's what you get when you bring your bachelor brother home for the weekend. And, trust me, our mother raised us both the same, to clean up after ourselves and to stay clean. He just dropped all he was taught and became a bum. He's our black sheep, the only one that lives in a pig stye and doesn't even realize it! Hoarder deluxe as well. Ho hum .... at least I can control it, demand that he go by my rules, while he is here. :blueflower:

Warm but very windy here yesterday. Had a wedding to go to so didn't get much done outside. Taking advantage of the nice day today. Should be 50 and sunny and less wind. Predicting lows in the teens tomorrow night. Brrrr
Draining the skippy today and putting to bed for the winter. Have a few leaves I need to net out that got under my netting. I think Im going to pull my pump as well and just run some air.

Snowing and minus 10 c, or 14 f. going down to 10 f. tonight. Pulled the big pump out of the bottom pond and got the smaller pump going, fish are back hiding under the floating yellow flags and other pond plants, their normal winter routine. Need to slow down flow in the top pond a bit more, so when it is really cold I will unplug one of the pumps directing water to top pond, and leave underwater filter and pump in the pond below the ice, as their is stuff living on filter that I don't want to kill. Bottom pond should get a nice ice cap tonight that will help keep the pond water temperture stable. Not using the heater yet, waiting for more ice to form. Presently only small amounts of ice forming on edges.

I have been very busy in the greenhouse, getting that winter ready, and moved some succlents inside just in case... Need to get the pond nets off the ponds now as all the leaves are off the trees, next week the temperture supposed to warm up then I will put them away and sweep the last of the leaves away into the garden for winter.

Bad dirty birdies got and brand new cage, took me a while to get all the pieces together, cause it came with lots of parts. Now that it is all together, it looks real good!!
