Colleen, she's adorable!!! And, can I ask what the red berries or flowers are behind her in several of the pics? At first I figured it was a hanging pot outside your net, but seems like it is in a larger area than a hanging basket, so curious if you have a tree that is blooming, or has red berries this time of year!
John, hope your wife or MIL don't read over your shoulder on this Forum! So many men say that about their mother-in-laws, but I wonder if many of them really mean it. :blueflower:

I'm usually not up when the sun rises, but since it's coming up later each morning, and the puppy has me up sometimes WAY earlier some mornings, I caught this sunrise lately.

Beautiful weather in south central Illinois! Heading up to almost 80 today, rain (hopefully) tomorrow, and then "Sunny and 75" on Sunday. I put that in quotes, as it's the name of a new country song. :blueflower:

2 inches of rain since yesterday, still raining, slow moving tropical storm sort of stuck over us doing a circle.

CE pup has me up, usually around 430am, she is used to that wake up time when honey goes to work. Which right now looks like it might be a while before he goes back, dumb politicians.

We time our morning 4 mile walk based on the sun rising, it is coming up as we start.

Dumb politicians, indeed!!! I usually go back to bed if he wakes before 6, and the dogs were all being very quiet, but I love mornings, so just got up. Now tonight, when I'm ready for bed at 9, I'll know why. Wow, you got a good amount of rain! I sure hope to get another inch or more tomorrow. Otherwise, I'll be topping off the ponds again, and watering landscaping that just got transplanted. Ho hum ....

My ponds have been overflowing for two days now, getting a heck of a good water change before winter. I have it set up where the water enters one end of the pond, flows out the far end. A lot of water input with the gutter feeds. I need to check the ph when it stops. So far massive rain has not bothered the ph, so far lol

The only water that enters my ponds is from a hose or the sky. But, last weekend's 1" filled both ponds. And, right now, goldfish pond needs about 1-2" of water, but going to wait it out and hope for some good showers tomorrow. Or, maybe I should use "Murphy's Law" and assume that if I fill it tonight, it will really rain well tomorrow! :claphands:

I have been gutter feeding since I set the pond up, great water changes, no issues at all with the water, that I can tell, healthy looking fish, frogs etc. The shop is a metal roof, 30x36, then half of our house roof, asphalt shingles, 4 yrs old. But we are rural, low pollution etc.

CE the red berries are from a Siberian crab apple tree in the front yard. Those crab apples will slowly get eaten by the deer and the birds over the winter month. The trees are really loaded with fruit this year cause the spring was very mild. In the spring many of the crab apples will still be there and will turn to rotten fruit wine and the birds will pick at them and get drunk! :zap:

Is the fruit bumpy? like little spikes coming out? A neighbor has a tree covered with red berries, they can't recall what it is, fruit looks like crab apples but has spikes all over it.

No, the fruit is not bumby, the Siberian Crab Apple is just very small sour apples that the birds and deer eat. The tree does flower very nice pink flowers in the spring, and in the fall those nasty sour apples make the tree look pretty, but only the animals will eat those sour apples. I have other crab apples that do taste good and are nice in turkey stuffing that I use. :)

Addy, I wonder if you're talking about an ornamental Dogwood. There is one by my beautician's shop, and right now it has these really cute little red berries with kind of spikes on them. I think they are neat, but she says they are a mess! It's called a "Kousa Dogwood". Does it look like this pic I stole from the internet?
