only the trueth not kind .You have an eye and a love for what your doing and you can see the pics have a soul .I was taught by my dad that plants and flowers and trees are living so they have a soul of sorts you just have to look close .Thing is that door knob has a past and if it could talk wow .I remember the last time I was at my parents house in PA saying something like that as I sat there and looked at everything and remember the summers spent there .Things just flashed in my minds eye .HAPPY THINGS .The house had the old door knobs like that and most younger people cannot appreciate the past like we do .I think that is why the door knob was the first thing I saw .I know you posted it before also .The self portrait also was posted before .

It was 68F for me today. A little rain in the morning, but that was it. Hotter during noon - 4pm or so, but no rain yet. A question regarding my spray away, that's the motion detector spraying thing for the heron. When can I put the spray away away? Are the herons away somewhere for the winter?
You are gonna have to put it away John as we get closer to freezing temps cuz if that thing freezes it's bye bye time. Then you are on your own for another way to protect your pond. We don't get as cold as a lot of people in colder climates and I think there are Heron that stick around here all year long looking for an easy meal. You could just cover it in the cold weather w/ a net each year and bring the squirt guy out in the Spring.

A very nice post Sissy. All of the exhibit photos were taken in the distant past.

91 and climbing. I sound like a broken record. :)

As long as they can find food, they'll hang around. Once all the water is frozen over and the frogs are estivating in their holes, the herons have little choice but to head south. In your balmy climate, that may not be until January, if at all! :dunno:

Was very humid and misty, very low clouds smothered the praires. Got my special shoes on that stick to trees when muddy, and went walking right up the trees at the park this morning, while hubby fished at the muddly river. Puppies tired to eat the tree cause they thought the bunny was inside the hole...

You WA people are hoping for now rain, so if you see any in sight, just shove it east, would ya? I'm begging for it here in the midwest. Got maybe 10 drops this morning, sure not enough to make a difference, but weather is saying good chance yet this evening and tomorrow, so I'm crossing my fingers. However, the 70% chance it had for her this morning, I guess qualified with the 10 drops, huh?! VERY humid here, and upper 80's, going to 90 they say. Worked outside late morning until about 30 minutes ago, messing in the pond, draining water, watering plants, etc. Now in house, showered, nice and cool, thinking this feels pretty good. I think a nice movie and cross stitching is in my future for the rest of the day! Haven't had cross stitching out since probably March. It is usually my winter and rainy day project. :blueflower:

Sissy, like the new camera. Looks like it takes good pictures like my Canon does. I'm looking to get a new camera this winter sometime. I love my Canon that I have, I just want one with more options and different lenses that I can put on. Went Camping over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Had a great time and got to go fishing and catch some trout. Here are some pics of our trip.

Great pics, Ryan! I had to laugh ... love the pic of your daughter in the river. It was a favorite thing for me to do in the summer, play in the creeds and ponds. And, a sippy cup on her pink lawnmower!!! Go girl!!!
Now, can you please pack and ship that windmill at that old house? It looks deserted, no one would notice it gone missing! I'll even pay you to ship it to me.
I love to swing, too. My kids are too old to want to go to the park these days, but maybe someday I'll have some grandkids that I can take and swing with!

She loved playing in the trout streams. They are cold, cold, but the water is so clear and fresh. In Iowa, the trout streams are feed by natural underground springs. I love taking pictures of old homesteads and old barns. Black and white is my favorite setting to use because it's much harder to the get the pictures to turn out. None of my pictures are edited in anyway. Just used the b&w setting on my camera. We have a photo contest at our state fair every year and for years my family has been wanting me to enter some pictures. I think this next year I will. Its a b&w theme this next year. I just wonder what things that old house has seen in its time.
