Been a while since I have been on here. Crazy summer with many ups and downs. We bought our camper this spring and have been out enjoying our second home. All was going well until our 3rd trip out. The 4th of July weekend. We got back from our trip and the wife wasn't feeling well at all. She just figured she was dehydrated from not drinking enough water while camping and having too much fun. The week went by and she still wasn't feeling well. That following week, I got called into the office at work. Not good news. Company not doing good and they are going to have to lay some people off. Yep, you guessed it. I was one of them. Great, now I have no job, a sick wife, and 4 kids to support. After some thinking, I thought this would be a great time. My dad recently quit his job and started his own handy man repair business. Mainly doing ac and furnace work. That's what he has done for 35 years. I start working with him right away and was making good money, but only one tiny problem. I needed medical insurance. By the grace of god, I was able to score me a new job, here in town. No more driving 60 miles a day. That was a Thursday. Friday.....the wife still isn't doing good. She goes into the ER. They admit her. They run every test possible. Sunday comes and we might have an answer. Lymes Disease. All her symptoms are pointing towards that but they have to send off the blood for a culture. Great, more time to wait. I'm supposed to start this new job on Monday, its sunday night, she is still in the hospital. She tells me that she will be fine, I go home to get a good nights sleep. Next morning, she texts me an said it wasn't a good night, and I needed to get back up there. I check with my new job, and they tell me to let them know when I can start, that's a huge relief. I get up there and the dr comes in to talk to us. They are sure that she has viral meningitis, but they need to get some spinal fluid. The wife says hell no, why open up my self to risk possible infection in my spinal cord for a viral thing that there is nothing they can do for it. It just has to run its course. So after this meeting, they tell us that the culture will take a few weeks to get back. Come on really, on TV they can have a culture done in an hr. We finally tell them that we want to just go home so she can be in pain in our own bed. They agree and let us go home. The wife is supposed to fly out in 2 days to go to Atlanta for a Thirty-One convention. We knew that wasn't going to happen so we had to cancel those tickets. I called me new job and told them what had been going on and I would be there on Wednesday to start. They were thrilled. So I start the new job, its going great, they love the work that I do. The hospital finally did call us to tell us that she did have Lymes Disease and that if left untreated, it does go into viral meningitis. She has since made a mostly full recovery. She is still getting her strength back. Doing much better. Our youngest turned 2 while all of this was going on, so are going to do a party for her. We bought her a puppy. We got another beagle from the same parents that Mr. Gunner is from. They are full brother and sister, just 2 years apart. Her name is Annie. The pond is doing great. I think we have a lotus in there that we got from CE., here are some pics.

Wow Brandon, Lots of stress there! Good thing you have new puppy Annie to focus on and love. My old puppies helped my hubby through his medicial crisis, and now Poppy sticks to him like glue! Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your wife too, and your pond looks beautiful! Hospitals here are not that great anymore, and people get left for dead waiting in the crowed emergency room these days, the bigger city's seem to have better medical care around here.

Glad to hear your story has taken a positive turn.
Disappointing to hear how healthcare can be such a deciding factor in the direction people's lives take.

Wow, sure glad that had a happy ending, Brandonsdad. That is not a lotus, it's a Georgia Peach lily! It's my favorite ... well I have another from Addy that is another favorite, and yellow from Larkin! But, the GA Peach remains the best producer of flowers so far. Enjoy it. It's hardy, will multiply fast, so be ready to find friends to share with next year. :blueflower:

I feel a little burst of energy comming, now that I have had a good rest and a day off, so I all get dressed and stop hanging out in the garden in my night night cloths, and go get some more slabs of concrete to extend my bug free zone again. This morning I did several loads of laundry, did the dishes, took the garbage out, and worked on the fence gate. I switch the gate around to swing outside instead of inside, that way I will have more room inside the bug free zone, when I am sitting right now, listening to the water run, the birds singing, and the crows are cawing.

Currently we have a light breeze high in the tree tops, more noisy crows, beautiful morning for sure, blue skies and not too hot yet....
