hey in the old days thats what you did or you heated water on the wood stove and had a tin tub in the middle of the kitchen floor .If you had a stream nearby you washed your clothes and your self in it .It's not that cold we just all have thin skin :cheerful:
I am not that old but close. When I was two we moved about 100 feet across the yard to a new house with running water. So I expect I took a few baths in that style but was too young to recall.

Our house in PA had a hand pump just off the kitchen and a giant cooking wood stove in the kitchen and a pot belly stove in the living room ,so i took plenty of baths there or in streams .We lived there until I was 3 and we mover to NJ and kept that house for vacations .It was fun to rough it in the country .Horse and carriage Uncle Ivan would bring over for us to get around in as my mother did not drive and my dad could not be up there all the time for vacations .We went to open air church and had 3 covered bridges to go over and the clippty clump was so calming when you went over them .Had lots of cousins and grandma and grandpa close buy and my best memories happened there .

Pretty hot day here today, for here anyways. 27C/81F
There are still a few patches of snow here and there, but if this keeps up, they're not long for this world. :bye2:

Buds haven't yet shown themselves on the trees. Peonies and rhubarb are breaking out of the ground.

What a day sent from Heaven! Got up in the mid 80's here and broke the record here for this day. Got up early and stacked a truck load of wood into the new wood shed all by my lonesome as hubby had an eye checkup today. Then I hauled 8 garbage cans filled w/ Doug fir tree limbs that were mulched up by our mulcher machine to various garden areas where I unloaded it all. When all done w/ that I watered all the stuff in the back yard. Got done at around 4pm. Did all that on one bowl of Cheerio's! Once I get going I can't get myself to stop and eat. I did manage to swig down some liquid refreshments now and then tho

We may get rain here a lot but MANNO, MANNO, when it's nice and sunny here it's GREAT!
Back to the wood hauling and stacking again tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow

Wow, you were the Energizer Bunny today, just like Addy! Sounds like you really enjoyed your day outside, and got tons done. I had to laugh, though, when you said you watered all the stuff in the backyard. Seems like it's always raining there, so wondering where all that rain went! Guess when the sun comes out for several days in a row, things get quite dry again. :blueflower: Things have reversed, as my yard is a huge mushy sponge, grass is 8-10" tall again, and it's going to be at least another day if not 2 before I can possibly mow without leaving mud tracks. Oh well .... loving the green the rain brings with it. And, weeds are sooo easy to pull in the mulch, root and all!

My cheek are rosy from working in the back yard today. Today we made it to 80 degrees!!! Felt really good to have a good dose of fun in the sun! Off now for two days so I will have time to get the front yard done. Work wears me out these days, work so darn hard and hardly take a break cause there is so much to do, they cut so many workers hours that we just keep getting so behind. It is that way all over town, "do more with less" seems to be the wave of the future!
Having a nice glass of wine after a hard night of work.... :)

It is about 4:30AM and nearly 50F. Yesterday was a bust. Maybe we will get something done today. I am about to head over to the shop and see if I can get some sleep there.

They said rain all day today but sun came out .I sprayed all the utters with bleach and water to whiten them back up and was hoping for rain to wash the the bleach and water off .All the rain is nice to make things green up but it sure makes the darn weeds grow with it .

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood
Please won't you be my neighbor

Potted cactus and flowers in the small pots this morning. Then sat by the pond watche the water bubble and Gambusia school swim about. Saw babies and a fat pregnant female so there should be more soon. A small white nat flew to the waters surface and in an instant was swallowed by a big male Gambusia.

Hey, have black underwater bugs on big stones. I have forgotten if these little creatures turn into something else.

( won't you be my neighbor smile )

Cooler today and starting out cloudy but its supposed to clear up and get to around 75*. Nice day for wood gathering if there is such a thing? I will take pix today so I may hope for sympathy and pity from you all :cheerful:

CE our soil is so sandy and the rains just pass right through. I have lots of mulch to help but if we get some heat we still need to water now and then. Wonder why my Bleeding hearts get tall and bloom and then some just snap over? Maybe the wind or is it just something they do? I'll need to cut the ones off that tipped as they look sad that way

HTH, pretty bad when you have to go to your shop to sleep!!!! What's up with that?? :bye2:
We purchased a hi tech foam bed a few years ago. I screwed up both knees and was stuck in bed for some months. It was a very good sleep up to about a year ago now it just hurts. I think the extended bed stay was hard on it. I am switching to an air bed that monitors the air pressure and tops it off as needed while you sleep. The first one leaked so we are in the processor reinforcing the replacement with beads of silicone seal over the seams.
