Its cold here. Not too happy with Mr. groundhog right now. If I can find him, he will be supper for tonight. Last year, last week, our Average highs for the week of March 13-17 were 82.5. Yes thats right. Shorts weather at this same time last year. Now they are calling for a snow storm on Sunday. I didn't hear how much because I changed the channel after they said snow. March came in like a lion and is leaving like T-Rex. So ready for spring to get here.

They are talking snow for us maybe tomorrow. Today we had a heck of a wind/rain storm and lost power for half the day. It just came back on a short while ago. First day of Spring...........bah humbug!

I'm counting on going out like a lamb, but that won't be until a week from Sunday, so Mother Nature has some time to straighten things out down here! It was bitterly cold today, 20-25 mph winds all day sucked big time, made it feel much colder than it was. Yeah, last year was WAYYYY above normal for temps, so I guess we are getting way below normal this year. Maybe that means next year we will be "normal"? I guess we can hope. I have ice again on the north facing wall of my waterfall. The winds blew so much today that I had chunks of mulch in the ponds, and that also blew the waterfall water up on the wall to form ice. Second time this has happened this year. Fish are back to hiding under their "garages" for the time being Don't blame them. Brrrrrrrrr .... :cold:

Tried to snow a little bit ago and then the rainy/snow mix turned back to just rain. Now the sun is trying to come out. Talking thunderstorms and colder tho. I'm pulling for the sun to win..........come on sunshine you can do it!

Laughed too soon, big bad storm rolled in with massive gusts of wind, blew light out on hot water tank or something, hubby is working on that while I boil water for a hot bath!!

Meanwhile the snow is really falling fast and very wet, deck has slushy snow covering it, yard will be extra muddy and things just couldn't possibly be more lovely.... except maybe the power could go off too!
Some quicky shots of the front yard and neighborhood.

Sissy, I'm thinking most of us are thinking the same thing this year. Boy, sure a change from last year this time. 50 degrees colder, and no end in sight for me in IL. Here's how I'm figuring it, though. The last two years we've had a very early spring, or much warmer weather in March and April. This year, it's going to be colder than normal ... so I sure hope that means a relief and no June, July and August in the high 90's this year! That really was nasty the last couple of years, and last year even worse with the drought that came along with the heat wave. I'll take this if April is at least in the 50's and May in the 60's and June in the 70's!!! Wouldn't that be wonderful. I think we totally missed out on spring weather last year, having 80's in late Feb. and March. I don't mind cooler days and nights, just don't tease us with 60 one day and 20 the next, literally. Only got in the high 30's here today, but sunny most of the day. Ice still on the north facing wall of the waterfall, which looks very out of place, since no ice anywhere else. The north wind blew the waterfall water up on that wall and froze it there. Lots of chunks of mulch got blown into the pond yesterday, too. Hate the wind ... most of the time anyhow.
