Sissy, the weather pattern that gave us this snow originates near Hawaii, it's called the "pineapple express". Have you ever heard of it carrying through as far as you?

They are calling for us to get rain/snow/wind tomorrow, winds supposed to be 22 mph, YUCK!!! I think it will be all rain, though, as temps supposed to be 41 for a high and 34 for a low. I think I should be ok to drive the Charger tomorrow. Easier to get Barney in my car than lift him into the truck! He got a nice bath tonight, nice meal with some tiny cut up pieces of fat from rib eye steak the other night (all the dogs got this added to their food), so this is his last meal before he gets neutered in the a.m. Humane Society will pick him up on Tuesday, and I'll be able to go see him on Wed. Praying he gets a really nice family to adopt him, I think he deserves it.

I see lots of pitbulls not adopted out here mainly because the shelters charge so much to adopt .I looked at a chi here at an animal shelter and adoption fee is over 200 dollars and then you add on everything else and it comes out to close to 300 dollars .Thats the main reason dogs and cats don't get adopted and are put to sleep animal shelters need to make the cost cheaper and I have complained to everyone about it .If they made it affordable then more would get adopted out and they would have to spend less to hold them and feed them .The home inspection before you can adopt here cost 20 dollars per visit and 2 visits required .Thats is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of and if they don't approve you then you are out 40 dollars .

Wow, Sissy, those are some really stiff rules to apply to those just wanting to give an otherwise unwanted pet companion a family to live...and love life with. We have one of the highest rated death sentences for unwanted pets/strays in the nation, even tho adoption rules here are pretty liberal. the problem has gotten so bad that the community is beginning to pull together with solutions. Like, a brand new facility has opened for low and even some cases, no charge spay and neutering those animals that have people wanting to adopt. As far as the Pits go, it's the same for them if they are lucky enough to end up in a shelter. But, getting to one is harder for them, as we have trigger happy cops that get away with shooting any Pit that even looks at them...in a "wrong way". And the sickening dog fighting that goes on here is horrifying, as it is big BIG business gone way beyond what I can emotionally even discuss. We have amazing Veterinarians here that step up to the plate and care for those found discarded.
Wow, I almost don't want to post this, as it's a bit overwhelming for me. I hope it doesn't depress anyones day too much, but at the same time awareness is part of solution.

On the lighter side...and I'm not being a Pond Sliding braggy butt, Sissy :sun_smiley: , it's another warm and sunny 70 something day!

I have gotten all my pets fixed and it is a shame to see so many pets that need love and the shelters are not willing to work with you to give them a decent home .Reason they won't give me another chihuahua is because i have such a bad bad pitbull .he is so mean.He looks so mean it is pathetic .I paid for one visit to try to get a chi and the person was rude .Every time the king lays down pee wee jumps on his back and even the vets office gets a kick out of pee wee and the king

Sissy I'm coming to dognap that cute little Pee Wee cause he is so adorable! :)

Winter has come back and we sure have some icy roads, their was a ten car pile up down the road from my place, at the bottom of Kin Cooule hill yesterday. After that the city shut the hill roads down and the highway in and out of town were closed due to the blizzard. At least the wind is not blowing anymore, but light big fakes of snow still falling outside.
