That is sooooo true! Come on, when they call for storms, they predict them more than 2 hours before they hit! And yet, the day before, the bread in the local grocery store was pretty much wiped out. I had to look, didn't need any, but had to look. Milk was fine, eggs were slim pickings too. LOL
People that drive that slow are a hazard even more so than too fast, sometimes. I try to go about 10-15 mph below speed limit, and seems everyone else on the interstate last night was doing the same thing ... except the semis. I know I should NOT have had my phone out taking a picture, but I never took my eyes off the road when I took both of these last night on my way home. I did it all by feel, had my phone where I could easily get to it. Semi passing me on interstate....
And, when I got off the interstate, this is what I drove on the rest of the way home. Only about 1" of snow then (maybe got a total of 2" before the ice started), but had great traction on my truck fairly new tires.
I had no traffic on my way home after getting off the interstate, which was great! I only went 40 mph or so on the blacktop, which is similar to a 2-lane highway. Met a few cars, but none came up behind me, so I just cruised slower. Schools locally were in all day, and I bet those bus drivers were cussing a blue streak, as the snow started at the exact time school began letting out. The buses were driving up and down hills in the country, going around tight curves, backing into driveways sometimes ... that would have sucked with all those kids and slick roads. no school today, though!
My Boston is too small to break through the ice on the snow, so she looked like she skated all the way across the yard. Poor thing. Mule thought the snow was just fine to roll in, though.
I think we got maybe couple tenths of ice on top of the snow, but temps are heading upward today, already up to 36 this morning.
