You are in a drought sissy! That's not hardly any rain at all and hope it doesn't effect your wells around there going dry. Hope you get some big rains or maybe snow would help also

Yep, same here, Sissy. We got very light rain today off and on, but I may have to add water to my pond this weekend, it's getting pretty low. Doesn't go down as fast in the colder weather, but it's been windy, so that evaporates it as well.
Oh, have to tell you all this! I refinanced my house couple of weeks ago, got 2.625% interest rate! Well, my neighbor past me, that has not had anyone living in her house for over 2 years, FINALLY listed it for sale with a realtor! I looked up the price on her house! Get this. I had an appraisal done of my house, which is I think just over 1400 sq ft, straight ranch, nothing fancy, 2 car garage (but small 2 car), 6 acres, large barn with 36x52 concrete floor lean-to that I put new roof and siding metal on, pond, and fenced in. My house appraised at $127,000, which I was happy about, since I paid $115,000 for it 3 years ago, so the improvements DID add to the value! Well, her house is 1550 sq ft, ranch, but she does have a gable in the front breaking up the roof (not that it gives house any extra value, just looks nicer in my opinion), unfinished basement (mine is partially finished), she has a 30x40 concrete floor shed, and 2 acres. She listed her house for $189,900!!!!! I sure hope she gets it, too, cause if she does, my house value will go straight UP! This ought to be fun to watch. In my opinion, there is no way her place is worth more than mine, since I have 4 acres of ground more than her, and that alone is worth $20,000 or more these days.

CE, Maybe the housing market is picking back up in your area, good news for you if sells high! Getting colder tonight, supposed to get to around 2 Fahrenheit overnight. I left pond plugged in all day today, and I still got lots of ice on middle and bottom pond. Could feel the difference in temperature just before sunset tonight, had to have my head covered at park with hood. I hate freezing my head off. They say 80% of your body temperature lost when you don't wear hood and scarf. I have to have big warm scarf and warm hood and gloves to walk at park when it is this cold!

Was grey late this afternoon, clouds hung heavy and low across the sky. You could see the ice fog in the distance, very soon PopPy will have to wear her jacket to the park as she does not have thick fur like brother Bear.

These huge trucks rumbled up the gravel road leading to the ice jammed river. they are finally fixing the old Trans Canada bridge. Some of these dump trucks scare me half to death when I see them roaring up the frozen dirt road. I pulled over to the side and took some pictures, the wheels are huge and come close to the top of my window in the truck. Then they have a big box jammed packed with big heavy rocks... they would flatten my truck in two seconds so I stop, give them LOTS of space, and pull way way over!

Hubby home tonight from Calgary hospital and enjoying my slow cooked roast beef with nice creamy mashed potatoes! He is fussy about food these days with the radiation treatments so I make him what he wants... long as he is eating I am happy! :)

Hubby said he likes the new floor and yellow paint very much. The inside and outside of his mouth is red and getting sore from the the three weeks of radiation treatment and he complained my double whipped potatos were lumpy, cause I ran out of red potatoes and used some yellow potatos that were slightly green but they did not cook right and I missed it, so some potatos are lumpy, now hubby looking for cane to beat me with! Ha ha

You may want to try instant potatoes instead they are just as good with out the problems .Green potatoes can even cause intestinal problems .I learned that from my hubbies heart healthy diet book .They can cause mouth ulcers also and can get into the blood stream .I was surprised how bad even the smallest piece of green potato is no good for you .Even potato chip companies use them and they are not the best thing .

I am very interested to see what the neighbor's house sells for. I contacted the realtor I used to buy my house, she is in the same office with the lady that listed neighbor's house, and she said neighbor's new hubby is the problem with the price! Evidently he thinks he can set the price at whatever he WANTS to get out of HER house! She will end up with nothing if she's not careful, as her new husband will take all her money and then kick her to the curb. I've mentioned that she needs to be careful what she does with her money, but she probably will not listen to me. Oh well! If her house sells for anywhere near what they are asking, I have a strong feeling the appraisal will show it worth far less, and then if the buyer doesn't have the cash to make up the difference, the bank will not loan on it. And, why would a buyer pay MORE than a house appraises for? It's just going to keep it on the market that much longer.
Yes, housing is coming up a little around here. I bought at the low time, so I was lucky.
Glad to hear about your hubby feeling better, Colleen! And, OMG, those trucks are HUGE! Keep those puppies away from them.
One of my favorite cats was dead in my yard last night. Still not sure if the dogs cornered her and killed her (they always chased her ...) or if she got hit by a car, and Yukon carried her dead body over by the barn. I'm getting really tired of burying animals here! I have quite the pet cemetery going by my flag pole! She was such a pretty cat, too, thick gray/tan fur, purred really loud as soon as you touched her. I have a feeling the dogs did it, since the other cats are acting afraid since then. Really ticks me off!!! I had not seen them chasing for quite a while, always hollered or spanked them when caught them in the act, but when you have a beagle and terrier, it's in their genes to chase. :-( I've actually never seen them chase any of the other outside cats, though, so hopefully the rest will be safe in the barn. Teddy had no fear, though, and would come to the house. Life is hard sometimes, darn it.

oh poor kitty cat .The market sets the price and housing selling and what a bank will appraise it for .Here the market is so bad you can steal a house for less than a car .Never thought the market would get that low .
