The Northern Lights didn't happen around here on Thursday. They never really fired up.

However tomorrow has serious potential. The best forecast I've seen for them since May. We'll see what happens. It depends on timing. It depends on how much the moonlight drowns them out. It depends on how much cloud cover and/or wildfire smoke is in my area. But I'll probably be up late monitoring it.

Tonight looks like it might be cloudier than I had hoped. Doesn't look like we'll see any rain though. Hopefully there will be some gaps in the clouds. Currently it looks mostly cloudy out.

We are supposed to get 4-5 days of rain. It will be the first this month! Checked drains up front and 2 were completely blocked. Now they are flowing great. Delivery for new timbers for driveway is tomorrow. Hoping to get it locked in before rain starts.

Some day I'll get out the good camera and show the pond at night with the light glow from the wisteria

We are clear right now but the time for seeing here is 2am to 6pm and the clouds may move in by then. I'm not staying up that late or getting up that early anyways.

It could be as early as 10pm here but best chance is about the same as you. I may try to get a few hours sleep and then get up and take a look.

Woke up twice overnight to check my phone to see what was going on with the northern lights. It was another dud. For all I know it could have still been cloudy out too but I never had to go out and check.

It's happening tonight! It looks like the CME that was forecasted to hit overnight last night is hitting right now! Northern Wisconsin may already be seeing the northern lights. Go figure there's a layer of clouds by me. Looks like another night of waking up every couple hours. 😆

Very faint northern lights low on the horizon. Not visible to the naked eye. Just a hint of green. The nearly full moon is going to make them tough to see.

The solar storm just increased to G4!

It's happening! I just watched the sky light up green and red! More color than I even saw in May, but no cool shapes, pulsating, or anything like that. It only lasted maybe 5 minutes and has been absent since.
