Glad she finally showed up. Red Bellieds are much more common here as well. The Red Headed ones seems to be here for only a short time, then they disappear to parts unknown. Pileateds are always around and it's easy to hear them turning trees into wood chips.

We also have Downy Woodpeckers here. Very cute little birds.
I forgot to mention Downy, and there was one at the feeder about 30 minutes ago!

We love woodpecker watching! We have a big platform feeder & suet holders on a large tree down in the yard, and a smaller hopper feeder right outside our sunroom window. When the weather is cold enough, even the pileated woodpeckers will come to the one right up at the house (what a thrill it is to see them that up close & personal!)

and another shot of Woody outside the sunroom (you can see the window frame on the right side)

Geez, not YOU TOO! GAAAAAHHHHH!! Surrounded by Pileateds and can't see a one of them! If there was a 'stinkeye' smiley emoji, I'd be putting it RIGHT here...fer the both of ya!

Dayam; gonna have to consider moving...

@BKHpondcritters The Hairy is larger than the Downy, isn’t it? Not sure if I’ve seen a Hairy. I don’t have my suet up, but have a squirrel-proof peanut feeder that gets a lot of attention. Great pics, BTW!

Not sure if we the Hairy here either. I just thought those were female Downys. I'm going to have to look more closely next time. Looks like they have a longer beak?

If you have both, wouldn't a downey be called a 'sally'? You know, like when Harry Met Sally...

sowwy, it just fell outta ma mouth, didn't even know it could get loose, sheesh, need that clothes pin again...

Thanks, and yes, the Hairy looks a lot like a larger version of a Downy. Other than size (which is hard to tell if you don't see one right next to the other) is the size of the bill. The Downy has a rather dainty one, where the Hairy has a very heavy, thick one. The other distinguishing feature is, if you look closely at their white outer tail feathers, the downy has little black bands, but the hairy's is pure white with no black.

Wow woke up to the biggest beautiful warm sunshine ever. Still a bit chilly but that will be taken care of as the day goes on.

Should make it up to the 50's

Sun just now poking out through the misty clouds. Looks like sun again today and in the 50's.

@brokensword how dare you use the word Seattle in the Queens presence! The place is an abomination in her majesty's book of etiquette o_O
