Cool, frost in the morning. I worked the overnight shift last night, saw a few hunters go out thus morning, not as many as I thought there would be.

I've noticed that in a good economy, there are lots of hunters, in a bad economy, there are fewer.
Kind of opposite of what you would expect.
Makes me think hunters are doing it for an entertainment hobby instead of for sustenance.

Hearing talk of a winter storm with potentially significant snowfall on Sunday for this general area. Still too early to know exactly what's coming.

The next two days are supposed to be in the 40s, which is good news because I need to get my net unfrozen and also switch my pump for my breather, especially now that there's a winter storm coming. I've never had my pond freeze before I shut it down before. Fall left in a hurry this year.

I shut my bog down last week but haven't done anything else! I need to get my 100W heaters in and run cables for lights and cameras run thru them and then get pond breathers in. We've had lows of 18F but no ice yet.

I have a light coating of ice on the big pond, heavier on the small ponds.

Pond breathers in, just not running yet.

Early forecasts show we're in the 3"-6" range for Sunday's winter storm.
Sounds like it may be heavy, wet snow which makes things considerably more difficult.

At least if we get a decent amount, I can head into the woods to take some wintry photos.

Waiting for the rain to stop so I can jump on the bike. Would be nice if the temps would rise above 40f and the sun would come out. I dream!

Got the pond all set for Winter. Really lucky that we had one ice free day before tomorrow's snow. Latest info is 4"-7" throughout tomorrow with strong winds.

We've just been upgraded to a blizzard warning due to the combination of strong winds and heavy snow on the way. It's been awhile since I've seen a blizzard warning. The last time I can think of is the 2011 Groundhogs day snowstorm.

Oh boy sounds fun and exciting to me! Ok I guess if you can stay home but for drivers not so good.
