I think your way underestimating this Grand Solar effect and combine that with earth moving away from sun and reports from around the world are smashing 100 + year old records.....I've seen you post this a few times, and I just wanted to clarify a couple of things. 'Grand solar minimum' means that the sun is less active, and as a result there are fewer sun spots - this happens roughly every 11 years, and can have a small effect on regional weather. It is nothing to do with the Earth's orbit of the sun - which as you rightly say is elliptical. The earth is moving away from the sun, but it's at such a slow rate (roughly one micrometer per year) that it doesn't have any noticeable effect

We had a couple inches yesterday. Crazy weather this year. The plants are trying to grow but it has been tough for them.It feels like it's the 97th of January.
More snow coming tonight.
