Wowser and double Wowser!!! We woke up to a ton of snow this morning. I freaked out when I saw my pond net. It was pushed all the way down to the water level and ripped apart on some of it. Had to use S hooks to hold it back together for now. That snow was darn wet and heavy! They said we might get up to an inch last night. Boy were they off buy about 6"!

On another note...................I now found out who my exact birth father was. DNA match of a 1st cousin popped up in my ancestry matches. I talked w/her on the phone last night. You guys don't know how long I have been searching for this. I am so thankful that my prayers have been finally answered. Turns out she is really my niece and not a 1st cousin. Ancestry.com does not always get things exact in that area. They call everyone cousins, lol!
And to top it off her and her family live here near me!

Today’s high was only 55, well under the prediction of 60 something. Chances of storms next two days. I hope the plumber can make it out before/ between it all hitting.

Wow, JW, that's awesome news! Is your father still living, and if so, will you get to meet him? How exciting to find a niece and learn she lives nearby as well. It's your lucky day.

It got warm today! I dug up more of the flower bulbs, replanted them, oh I need a long hot soak! I don’t have enough energy to get them all dug up yet, nor pots, or soil! 11 planters full so far, but oh man, I’ve got way more bulbs popping up than I thought we had! And that’s with me accidentally killing some digging them up. I’m trying to fit one or two clusters of bulbs per container, depending on size of pot and size of clusters. Where the bulbs multiplied, and are packed tight, I think I’m stuck not separating them out right now, I’ll do so later. Like in the fall. I think once they bloom, I’ll mark what’s what, when it blooms, then in fall, I’ll separate them out so I can see just how many of each I’ve got, to figure out a planting plan.
HEY!! I like your greenhouse! Greenhouses are just a great way to get things started early. Which reminds me I have some blubs left outside all winter and wonder if they will grow... going to plant them up in my greenhouse too!

If the glass wasn’t broken out of some of the windows, I could use it as a green house. I’m not sure if it will become a green house, parking spot for garden tools, or my little nook outside, but I know I want to fix it up. Waiting on rain and the plumber, coffee is on, listening to the first rumble of thunder. I do hope the rain is light, and the plumber has a good truck. These roads flood of the rain is too heavy, !!! I need to run out and put all the bulbs out to get watered, be on in a bit!

Yep, threw on day clothes, boots, let all the minions in, moved my bulbs out. It’s warm, like 60s already, but just got a splatter of rain. I do hope more follows. Time to go kill a spider or find a task we need to be dry for...
By minions, I refer to the cats allowed inside, and the three dogs.

Wow! That's incredible! I had read a few articles about Ancestry.com and 23andMe being used to reunite families. How cool is that! You said "was" - is your father deceased?

WOW supposed to be in the 70's the rest of the week here .Has anyone seen the new tesla roof .It generates energy and they say it cost the same as a regular shingle roof and is better .But wonder how they come up with that .They say shingle roof on a 3000 sq.ft house would be around 15 to 20 thousand and the tesla roof would be 73 thousand and same lasts 30 years .HUH .But they add in the electric savings ,but still seems high

Pfft. Maybe on the coasts, if you don’t get bad weather, or hail, or tornadoes. And have no shade trees, and high electric bills. In winter, our electric bill runs just over $100 a month. More in the summer cause of ac unit upstairs. So say 2k a year, electric cost. Shingle roof would be around 15k high end guess based off quote we got on the house in town compared to this one. 30x2+15=75, but that’s if it completely replaced all our electric use, had no storm damage, and was installed and rewired completely for that 75k.

My electric bill is always around 200 or more in the winter and then goes down to about 120 to 140 during the summer .The house is all electric but well insulated Floors are insulated and attic has 6 feet of insulation and walls are 2x6 walls .I put money into all the insulation when the house was built .It is not a small house at 2440 sq ft..The house new was 89 thousand and is a modular home and I would do a modular again .They have really made them even better now .

Yep he's been gone since 1972. He died in the Rapid City Flood on June 9, 1972 in Oklahoma. He had 3 sons and me. Bet he never even new I existed. Not sure tho. I have some of his offspring family to communicate w/tho. Have a nice niece and her family. She has sisters that would be my nieces also. Will see how it goes. Now I know who my birth mother was and my birth father and I have a half sister through our mother that I have known for years. One half brother left alive on fathers side but niece says she does not know if he still lives where he used to. He does not communicate w/her his own daughter.

The snow is still here and it is very cold at night now in the teens. Right now says it's 26f.
