The well has sediment in it. Pump is good, pipe is good, but have to clean the well. Fml. The only service I know of in the area that does it, ticked my dad off big time. So now we will be looking for a DIY way to clean it out. I’m thinking same principle as the pool vacuum, but using air to push dirty water up the pipe till it runs clear.
Here's a thought ... if your well is 230' deep, and the problem may be that sediment has settled and the pump cannot pull that up through the pipe, can you possibly pull the pipe out some, so it's not down in the sediment? I'm assuming, of course, that you have a lot of water in that 230' depth .... It seems to me that this would be far easier, remove one section of pipe, than to try to get the sediment out. How in the world do you push dirty water up through the pipe with air, when the pump can't do it? Good luck!
Oh, and mid 40's today, going up to 60 by Thurs, and rain coming. Tomorrow supposed to rain in am, 50%, but Thurs. it's 100% rain all day, it looks like! I'm ok with the rain, hoping not for downpours, since the ground is currently still frozen. The frost will be working it's way out of the ground with these warm temps, but I hate to see heavy rains with the frost still in the ground, as it washes the top soil away. Also, I sowed pasture seed on my horse pasture, where they moved dirt around the pond last fall (cleaned out the pond), so hoping that seed does not all get washed away. Hoping today the top will thaw out, and those seeds will get stuck in the mud!
