Those are so frightening, I can't even imagine seeing one coming like that. We get warnings here, but they are small ones, touch and go, so far. Further south than where we live, souther maryland.

Beautiful sunny day here in southern Illinois, but cold. Heavy frost this morning, but the daffodils that have bloomed are looking fine still. Hope the flowering crab trees hold out long enough to get more stable weather pattern. They sure were pushing buds this past few days of 60 degree weather! Only supposed to be in mid 40's today, but I'll take the sunshine any day! Off to work on waterfall filter ... hoping to get it up and running today .... finally!!!

Well so far so good for everyone and glad you are all fine and safe .We only got a few thunderstorms .I was watching the weather channel and still have it on .I could not believe the devastation the storm left behind and they say this is just the beginning but I'm hoping the end .The lady on the weather channel said it great the rest is covered by insurance and I still have my rocking chair and my life .The loss of lives is the worst the memories you loose and the history that was there is all gone .so sad

After such a mild winter, here it is March and this is what happened last night ...
Snow on trees March 5.JPG
and what it looks like this morning ...
2 inch snow.JPG
27 degrees this morning, but hoping the snow covering everything will help preserve the hyacinth and daffodil flowers that have not opened yet. I can hope anyhow. Oh well, sunshine is making it beautiful! Very dry snow, even though it seemed to come down very wet last night, sticking to the trees as in the first picture. No way could you make a snowball in it this morning. Probably should shovel my deck, but I have a feeling it may be all melted off by this afternoon. We shall see.

Yep, it was very cold this morning, 20 or below. Got to 42, all the snow is gone except against the north side of things. Tomorrow, 63, Wed. 65, and Thurs/Fri in the 50's. Wish I had gotten my pasture seed sown this afternoon, since not much wind, and on top of the snow, easy to see how it was broadcasting, but didn't. Maybe get it done this weekend, but that wind is usually what causes it to be delayed this time of year. If I don't get it done by this weekend, probably will be getting to be too late really soon.
