I think the eclipse will be able to be seen here hopefully but we won't see it in it's fullness. Would have to drive down to Oregon for that which is exactly what my sister is going to do w/her boyfriend. Says partly sunny so that could go either way here.

It'll be 83% here. I found out that a Total Eclipse will go directly over me in 2099. I mean, I'll be dead, but still...

There's another nearby total eclipse in 2024. Part of me wants to start planning a trip to see it, but I probably wont.

I won't be traveling anywhere to see one for a few minutes of enjoyment in all that traffic. I'd rather have a hot fudge sundae

For me, the enjoyment would be the full trip, not just the eclipse. Seeing the total eclipse would just be the once-in-a-lifetime highlight that the trip would be based around, but not the only reason for going. The furthest I've ever been out of the state was to Chicago. The furthest I've ever been away from home was less than a quarter mile into Minnesota. I'd love to go somewhere else, somewhere new, somewhere further away. Find a great camping location and spend a few days there. Make the trip a complete experience.

Well then yes you need to go see the world around you! Lots of things to see and neat places for you to hike. Just stay away from the big cities and enjoy the mountains, forests, lakes and scenic places in all their beauty. We took a road trip one year and drove in our car from here to the tip of the Florida Keys and up to Niagara Falls stopping here and there and everywhere in between. Was a fantastic trip but did not last long enough. Only gone a month. Would love to do it again in our camper.

Well, mostly cloudy with storms tomorrow. My eclipse is gonna be eclipsed by clouds. I guess that's a bonus, right? Most of the country only gets to see the moon block the sun, but I'll be lucky enough to see clouds block the moon blocking the sun!

I don't have anything to look through to look at the eclipse. My hubby has #12 welding shield glass but should have #14. I told him if he used the 12 and gets injured in his eyes I won't be leading him around by the arm when he goes blind.
Should be 93% eclipse here but the clouds could still be iffy.

There's about a 10% chance we'll see the eclipse today. Not great, but better than 0%.
I remember last year, thinking "Oh, the eclipse is in August, that'll be perfect because it's always sunny in August".

We have a thin cloud cover so far, so the sun is still visible. Three more hours of that would be great. If not, I already got a photo of the amazing moment when the Black-eyed Susan passes in front of the sun.

What a crappy summer here, worst I've seen in Ireland. Water has been 15C for 90%. So not much growth of new fish.

We took two welding helmets and taped two #10 lens together for each helmet and the eclipse has begun. It is 9:20am here now. Tiny sliver starting to cover.
