I need to get those choc logs off lawn in back but everything mucky now...
No energy right at this minute. Worked very hard moving pellets yesterday at work so arms are stretched out, ha ha ha

On a sad note... My friend at work who has lovely large koi pond may have lost her fish. I tried to add comfort to her yesterday at work, but she was sad, said her heater plug got somehow in water and may have electrocuted her fish. Her pond is iced over now so not much hope.

mitch what I read in my book about fan says this( do not turn on the fan until you have a good fire .The fan system is designed to enhance the convection principle of the fire place and is not designed to be a blowing system .The switch on the on the lower front face of the fireplace operates the fan ).I wonder when I get in there if I can change it to be a blower instead .Thank you so much for the info .I am wondering if it is really worth it to turn it to propane but when heat goes out or the electric goes out I may change my mind .This says it puts out 33 thousand btu and the tank is 24 gallons ,

I have one of those fans on our fireplace as well, but I don't use it too much.
I find that that fan can take too much heat away from the fire itself and as a result the fire doesn't burn as hot as it could.
Instead, I've placed a table fan on the mantle above and have that blowing on low speed whenever the fire is burning.

To darn warm, the trees will bud out and get killed off again.

50-55 for the next week or so

32°F right now, 40s and 50s for the next week, and possibly above average through the rest of the month.
For awhile, we were getting snow every week, but now it's been weeks since we've seen any accumulation.

The majority of my trees are fruit bearing but I don't count on any of them producing for the same reason. But the shade is nice:)

Got one too, all to often it would make it smoky in the house and way to loud for it's benefit. I'd longed for a fireplace insert, but now we don't burn wood anymore. I got this old vid about wood n fire if you're bored.

We use one of these on top of the woodstove;
416PPNvXrVL.jpg

  • The Ecofan Airmax is an economical way to move air throughout your living space
  • Creating its own electricity and pushing up to 150 CFM (cubic feet per minute) this fan is ideal for those living off the grid or looking to increase the efficiency of their stove and use less fuel.
  • Whisper quiet and completely assembled, these fans make for a great gift
  • Gold or Nickel blade versions available. 2 bladed.

And I got this going for me....
Sierra storms and the famous Washoe Zephyr helped crown Reno as the No. 2 windiest city in the U.S. in 2016.
Nashville took the No. 1 slot, according to a yearly analysis of weather data from CoreLogic, a research and consulting firm. Reno came in second among the nation's largest 279 metro areas, CoreLogic said

I would love a free standing wood stove .They give off the best heat since the whole thing gets warm .But it is not worth it to me to take out the fireplace at this time .Even the propane free standing are nice ,I saw 3 kinds in the the propane store and they were sealed and had blowers in them .They really gave off a lot of heat .Since he whole thing gets warm it gives off more than a fireplace and they really did look like wood burning ones .Easier you just flip a switch .

So there is no way to reverse this fan to blow the air out of the vents if I turn this to a propane one .
