As a younger person, I highly disagree.

While I agree that it's ridiculous that so many people get married and hardly last five years, I would also suggest it's even worse to stay with someone you no longer like. I see a lot of older couples who stay together even though they can't stand each other anymore, and it creates a terrible way of life. Neither person is happy, they're both grumpy towards each other, but they stay together and make each other miserable because divorce was seen differently when they were younger compared to now. It was all about the way divorce was publicly portrayed rather than it being an "us" society.

Sometimes love works out, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes marriages can be worked on, sometimes they can't be fixed. The truth is, people of all ages make stupid choices when it comes to love, regardless of age.

12 degrees here. As the meme says, "the air hurt my face" last night when I was outside for a grand total of about 3 minutes to roll the trash cans from the curb back to the garage. Yuck. Pond de-icers are working fine, and there have been some really cool ice formations over the waterfalls and the spot where the falls hit the pond itself. Tomorrow evening it will be warm enough to unplug the de-icers and give the electric bill a rest.

This is the tail-end of this cold spell, thank goodness. They're predicting 51 for next Friday!!

I guess I have never had that problem with my marriage .I do see a lot of people no matter what age jumping into marriage to fast and having children even faster .My hubby and I have been through a lot in 43 years and all of them just made our marriage stronger .We lost both our parents and my sister and my brother .My mom and dad and my sister died with in a year of each other and then my husbands mom and dad after we moved down here and I loved my in laws a lot and my brother no one even told me he had died until over a year after .What brings you down just makes you stronger .I tried to teach both my sons that .I think it all depends on love, trust and commitment .If you cheat in a marriage you cheat on yourself .

Darn cold, 8 degrees, wind chill below zero. We are under winter storm warning , snow, sleet, ice until tuesday, then more snow ice etc . BUT Saturday it will be 54! Warm enough to finally check the bees food levels. They are still doing fine last tapping I did. This is the time of year we will lose bees if they are weak. If we make it until march then they usually make it.

Yesterday 16 degrees and light wind, sun shining, it was beautiful! Dogs, even my Bostons, wanted to go out and stay out multiple times yesterday. Today, 20 degrees, cloudy, and WINDY .... brrrr .... no one wants to be outside today. Snow is supposed to show up here anytime, but only 1-3" or so. With this wind, that will make it messy. Supposed to snow again in a couple more days, then warming up to 65 by Friday! Yep, I'll take it. I think Phil the Groundhog may have known what he was talking about after all! Correction, snow is here. Get this - our prevailing winds are from the WNW. Today, high winds from the SSE. Now does that work anyhow? Snow is tracking from the west, heading straight east, but these SE winds are supposed to continue for the next 24 hours. Snow is coming "down" sideways, so far nothing hitting the ground. LOL
Oh, and I saw a sparrow taking a bath in my koi pond bog yesterday! Yep, totally got all wings wet and did it multiple times, long enough for me to grab my camera, focus, and catch the last couple of seconds of his bath! Then, it jumped up on some of the plants in the bog and shot off the excess water for a while, then up to a planter on my deck railing to dry off while it sang and sang. I was worried, what if it had flown to the windmill metal tower to land! It was cold enough I'm pretty sure it would have stuck, but it was smart. :)

Brrr, you guys got it bad! Meanwhile we're enjoying fantastic weather here, outside most of yesterday even saw a fish peeking out.
After 26yrs my wife and I act like teens in love, constantly hugging kissing. We make jokes about this stupid 'valentines day', as if we only love each other today? Everyday is valentines for us, if I work late, she'll be waiting for me at the garage door. The best thing about our relationship is NO controls on each other. I've got my life and she's got hers, on the weekends we'll split up and do what we want to do. Yesterday I rode my motorbike while she spent the day at her sisters, then held each other all night.:love::love:
