I feel your pain! But wow it's up in the balmy teens right now! Soon we will be in the 50's next weekend and back to our lovely rain!

Our pond’s half thawed today, with freezing rain and mixed rain/snow. I had to add water over the last few days to keep the above ground pump happy. We had at least 500 gallons of surface water freeze, dropping the level of water available for recirculation.
When the ice melts, the resulting high water drains away through an overflow pipe in the skimmer box. Without good drainage our backyard and basement would be flooded.

Finally got some snow here today and had a nice long walk out there in it. Pond still icy!

Totally incongruous seeing snow on that fan palm!

It's a Chinese Windmill Palm and it's hardy here. I planted it from a seed I stole from the zoo in Seattle over 15 yrs ago.

Patio pond is 33f

Happy I put in the breathers last week.
