Here is our first lily this year. Went with white as the other is a peachy-pink and yellow did not seem the right match.

Picked up four Creeping Jenny plants today along with a replacement Cardinal Flower that died over the winter. It was in the bog but wonder if I had it planted too deep, will try with the crown above the water by a couple inches.

Also picked up some elephant ears. Yes I know that are annual up this way but thought why not. Feet will be wet and I need to add another stone or two around it.

Take the bulb up on your elephant ear clean it well and dry it and store it in a box in a dry place and rep[lant it come spring .I used to grow them in NJ and did this and then moved the bulbs after I dug them up to VA and now leave them out until winter and cover them with lots of mulch to protect the bulb .I used to wrap my bulbs in NJ in newspaper also .I still have them growing here

New bridge. The one I've had since the beginning was starting to rot. It probably would've lasted another year or two, but it was time for a change. This one has the same design, but no railings.

Irises are always lit up perfectly this time of day. I really enjoy the combination of them, the Rocky Mountain Penstemon in the background, and Blue-eyed Grass much lower. Such a striking display of blue and purple.

There is always, always something to 'do' when you have a house & yard/garden, but if we don't take time to stop & enjoy what we have created... what's the point? Sometimes you have to actually schedule time during the day to do nothing at all - well, except maybe stop & smell the flowers. ;)
