We have had one light ice covering, I have not even turned on the pond breathers yet. It has been one warm winter.

Another storm that they seemed to have way over-predicted. They got the high winds and rain/ice right, but we barely got an inch of snow. Not the 8-10 inches they were warning us about. It was a good excuse to stay home and do "nothing" as my husband would say... in other words: laundry, vacuuming, dusting, cabinet organizing, refrigerator clean out, making dinner, cleaning up, etc etc etc. We have different ideas of "doing nothing"!

That nothing storm they warned you of MISSED you West Virginia got pounded we had over 60 mph winds and lots of rain. earlier in the day we had only a 30 % chance of rain but that changed quickly. I planed a bon fire and bbq last night and when the warnings came out everyone thought i would cancel . hell no we had the bon fire in the pouring rain. Had to break out the Leaf blower a couple time to stoke the fire but we managed to keep a good flame burning. At one point last night the camper got hit with a second front and it definitely shifted a bit. Good times
so they weren't wrong for a change just off on the path

Post-winter storm. Local news station got it right with 2"-4" prediction.

that pond is crazy did you build it or is it natural ?

I'm assuming this question was for me. We bought this wonderful country home with pond in '16. The gent we bought it from had the home built and the .6 acre pond dug in '98. When his wife passed suddenly in '16 he decided to sell and move in with one of his boys. We were the lucky ones that stumbled onto the Zillow listing just a few hours after it was posted. I fell in love with the pics and decided it was our dream home as well. We've been here since fall of '16 and I've yet to hear a siren. Serenity.
I have a "Love the Pond" intro thread I did here when I first joined that has a ton of pics.

Our original forcast for accumulations were from 12 to 18 inches mid Michigan. We got around 3. I can live with that. My concern was that the ice on local lakes, which is just getting safe on many of them, would not like 12 or more inches of insulating snow cover pushing down on 2 inches of ice. It takes longer to set up and get safe when this happens. Yep, I can live with 2 or 3 inches.

lol not home yet. I pulled the picture off our cams. My nephew is telling me it has been a warm winter. He is still at our house.
So happy I over fed the bees before we left. Gave them double the amount I usually feed ow they would be starving by now. 8 lbs of sugar blocks per hive vs 4.

Same snow situation here to your south @JBtheExplorer . Came home from work at 4 - no snow. Looked out the window at 4:30 and everything was suddenly white! Nice powdery snow - makes for easy shoveling!
