How big is that tortoise? He looks good sized but hard to tell in the photo. Nice pen you made.

Its the natural color, only brightened to what the actual flower looks like, because my original photo turned out dark or dull (original below) because my 'exposure compensation' was set too low. The brightened photo is much more accurate to what my eye sees. Oh, and they are hardy.

The original photo looks great too! I know what you mean about photos not capturing reality though. I've never taken a photo of my pond and then looked at it said "yep, that's just what it looks like in person." The pictures never do the real thing justice... They seem to always look more drab than in person... at least for a novice photographer like me.

Ahhhh, life is good. The pond is finally "finished." Time to kick back and relax with a beer or six...

(Okay, so I still need to plant a couple more plants, replace one birch tree that didn't make it, work on water chemistry, and buy a LOT of grass seed for the yard... but this is the first time I've been truly able to kick back and relax by the new pond)

I got the duck at Gales Garden Center. They had lot's of fun decoys but my hubby was with me so I only bought one
