Spring Is Coming!!! The bottom two ponds are mostly all covered in ice but take a look under the water! The only thing growing right now well under the ice is algae but the fish are all very much alive and well!! One red 1500 watt heater seems to be doing the trick so far even with the extra new upper pond that is five feet deep.... ps... must clean the underwater filter as soon as the weather is warmer.

ARG.............

I seems to lost 4 of my fish. 1 sarasa and 3 watonai. I'm guessing bird of prey... I'm going to have to put some string up and put some crate in for them to hide in. My pond is pretty plain right now.. sigh.....

Thanks :) I dont think it's heron at my pond... I've seen hawk though. It's gone during winter so my thinking is it's a bird that just fly in a swoop down to get the fish because with no floating plants, the fish are pretty expose. I thought with winter they would be hibernating at the bottom but seems the warm weather made them pretty active and come up to the surface. I'm putting the string up tomorrow.
