This shot is from my Dropcam (took a screen capture on my phone from the Dropcam app). Technically it's not TODAY, because I wanted to show the lighting we have over the pond at night. I just love the way it lights the entire pond! I sit out there late into the evening quite often.

The second pic is a daytime photo, so it really is just what the pond looks like today. :)

It's been a very cold spring here so all my plants are a bit behind. That and my fish have been hard on my lotuses and lilies.

I gave my fish a treat today. They devoured the grapefruit in minutes

This guy is wearing a hat haha

In other news, my ryukin goldfish is completely missing her tail. :( I'm not sure if its the fish or an outside predator that has injured her.

Unfortunately my quarantine tank is currently occupied by some new recruits, so I have set up a hospital pot in the nursery pool. I assume that the babies are smart enough not to get eaten by her through the holes in the pot.

My pond today. Went from slightly green, to clear. Then the gobs of toads came and now I have this. Green as I've ever seen it. Waiting patiently for it to clear. Ok truthfully rather impatiently but what can you do but wait. :)

Thank you for posting the pics of the green water. You are not alone. I have had green water since May 17. Fish, frogs and toads seem to be fine with it.

You need a good bog/plant filter. I never have green water. That pipe is 4 feet down in the water. You can count the snails on the bottom.

Addy, a bog is on my list. :) Would like to get going on it this summer. More filtration is what I need. I was late getting a lot of media in my filter this spring which is why I think my water is this green. That and all the additional toad poo!

I counted around 15 pairs of toads doing their thing earlier this spring (that was just one night), then the peepers then the green frogs, many 1000's of eggs, 1000's of tads swimming around now, their waste has never messed with my ponds.

Hope the toads had nothing to do with it. I do have lots of tads again so this is sure to be a yearly thing. More and more each year!
