There was a show on TLC called "My Strange Obsession" where a woman was regularly drinking her own urine. I think she finally stopped after a doctor told her that she was doing damage to her kidneys. I hope they're talking to their doctor about that.

Then, need to figure out where to move them so their beauty is not wasted on the side of the house.

That show is too weird! Watched one last night where a girl was hooked on eating deodorant!

Mitch my one sister is so extreme she claims she does not need a doctor cause she can heal herself!! I can't fight with her anymore cause it is like banging my head up against the wall!

Colleen, you should suggest to that show "My Strange Obsession" that she talk to your sister and her daughter, then don't tell your sister! If they call her, she will probably think that she's normal and they want to interview her. LOL
It was a rainy drizzly day all day today, well off and on, but mostly on! I loaded up a truck bed full of scrap metal, then decided rain or no rain, I WAS going to get the waterfall running again and the pipe wrapped with insulation rubber stuff. So, I DID!!! I had to change clothes twice, got wet and chilly, but for the most part, I stayed warm enough messing around. The water line has not been buried behind the inside wall yet, but all is running and even the fountain which I didn't have running all last summer is bubbling again! Oh happy day.

CE your pond is looking really good and I can't believe you have a Lilly pad already floating!! I see your bog is coming along really nice too! Your plants are much farther along then mine. is that a varigated cat tail growing in your bog?

Yes, those are the dwarf cattails, Colleen, they are varigated. They have multiplied and I'm giving away starts of them to anyone that wants some. I need to pull a bunch of them want them more in one area, rather than all along the back edge like I did last year.
Yep, I have about 5 pads in the koi pond (one is the lake lily, so I'm hoping I will get a flower out of that sucker this year!) and more in the goldfish pond. I'll be pulling all the lily pots today and dividing them. Some I will send to people who have asked for them and others not sure what I will do with them. May just toss them into a bucket and advertise them on Craigs List, see if I can get them sold that way. If not, I'll have to toss them. I don't need 50 lilies in my ponds this year!
My Sweet Flag is in the front left corner of the koi bog. You probably cannot see it, as it's very small. It's mostly yellow, the one that is to the left of the last cattail in the koi bog, to the right of a green reed. This will be it's 3rd year, and so far it has barely grown at all, never bloomed if it's supposed to. I think it's the dwarf variety LOL.

I had the large tall varigated cattail one year, many many years ago, in a large basket, but it never did well for me, as I now know that cattails need to be "cut loose" like yours and run free in a large bog or they get root bound quick even in a large basket. Yours are just fabulous, I am envious and I so need a large bog where I can have some that run wild and free! :)

I pulled a bunch of them to send to other ponders today, Colleen, and they are very easy to pull when growing in pea gravel. I know that is NOT the case with regular sized cattails that grow in the edge of ponds. They are next to impossible to pull. Mine have a really nice root system, and are almost always attached to another cattail ... runners under the pea gravel.

Good to hear, Cape. I sent you more ..... :blueflower: I know you said the first ones looked a little droopy at first, so glad to hear they came out of it. I had to cut down the ones I sent to you yesterday, as they were about 2' tall. But, the root systems are super! I was extra careful this time when I pulled them, wiggled my fingers down into the gravel and gently broke them free. That's how come I found all the water clover roots and runners. I sent you a bag of it, it doesn't look like much, but it will probably take off well for you.

Oh gawd, dont be thinking anything was wrong! It was just a bit of shipping shock, and then crappy weather when they arrived. I cropped a pic a bit so you can see how they are doing:) Anytime you want to throw things in a box, they greatly appreciated:) Guess I better go get more kitty litter in the morning LOL.

Once we can get some more rocks to secure the liner, they are getting PLANTED on the other side of the filter, in front of the chimney. BTW, hubby just told me that he noticed today that the pennywart is starting to take off too. Everything you sent is doing good. One of the lilies officially broke the surface today too (set shallow, but has a pad officially floating) ... that little clump of bonus iris' has about doubled in size already too.
