not just the usa sissy, here in uk it is big problem also, i remember 1 story about immigrant pakistani family who had something like 10 kids, the council didnt have a house big enough for them so they were private renting a 8 bedroom mansion through housing benifit at cost to the tax payer, crazy, i also read a letter last week thet had been leaked onto the internet, regarding assylum seekers living in government housing, letter stated that they had their electricity and gas bills payed for by tax payers and over the christmas period they were being credited with £90 electricity and £120 gas for the 2 week christmas period !! me and mirka both work and we can just afford £120 gas for 1 month !! it really makes you angry at times

It's the same up here in the Frozen North, Sissy. Story a while back about a third-world warlord who brought over his wives ( 2 or 3, I don't remember ) and about a dozen kids; welfare paid for their mansion and all expenses, and they were going back to the old country for six-month vacations while claiming to be refugees whose lives were in danger back home!

Well at least the U.S. is not the only country that gets taken by these people .I guess people know how to work the system and the countries let them get away with it and then it costs all of us .I see people here all the time with food stamp cards driving new cars and there kids have cell phones and expensive clothes .I turn my neighbors in last week ,I found out the Mexicans who moved in next door are getting food stamp card a rental assit and the guys boss bought the 175 thousand dollar home so they could keep ripping the system off .They have 3 kids and she is not even a U.S. citizen ,so figure that one out .She gets medical assist also .Here I worked all my life and saved so I could retire early and live comfortably .I guess I'm glad I learned early saving makes things happen .

if we couild get there we probably would sissy, it would be raped of all its natural resources, back to what youwere saying before, there was a debate on tv today regarding pensioners (over 65's) at present if you are over 65 you get free bus pass for travel, free television liciance (usually £119 per houshold) and upto £300 winter fuel allowance for gas, electricity etc, now some of these over 65's are very wealthy and have very good pensions, last winter more than 25,000 pensioners died from freezing, majority of which where only on a state pension, so the debate was as to should pensioners be means tested for winter perks ? and instead of this money going to the wealthy pensioners, more could be done for the poor ones, now i realise there is 2 sides of this debate, after all the wealthy pensioners have prob worked all there life to get to that financial status and lets be fair some have hade it handed on a plate from wealth upper class families, and prob never done a hard days work, so maybe if they where given an opt out option for the winter allowances if they feel themselves that they dont need it !

Brrrr!

I'll go to that new planet, Sissy... and I won't mess it up, I just want a warm place to live! LOL It is only 600 light years away, Keppler 22-b.

We don't get any real assist here mogsie for people over 65 .I am 58 and can't get anything anyway .I guess when times come by for me there will be even less to give out to seniors here .With the economy taking a dump the only ones that will get anything are the thieves .Gordy if you had year round work to do in a warmer area you may not like that very much either .I know that is why I picked VA as there is still a change in weather but not a drastic one and I am not in high cost storm areas .Here with in so many miles of the ocean you need hurricane insurance and that can cost thousands of dollars a year .Plus to get it you need hurricane proof glass and hurricane shutters and flood insurance and lots of other things that can cost a lot .My friends moved a block from the beach 12 years ago and now those things are cutting into there money to live .They can't even get half of what they paid for there home .They are getting to the point where they may loose there retirement home .I worked with him for years and he retired 4 years before I did .sad retirees can't making these days
