Hubby having ANOTHER bowl of my chlli again tonight! It sure is good, and this time I never used too many hot peppers for hubby. I love to watch him eat now, so happy that he can eat good, but a while back all he could eat was those liquid replacement meals. John sure looks good too these days, I swear he even looks better now than he did before the cancer! He sure works very hard too, yesterday he worked a 17 hour day! JOhn is much happier now too, all stress is gone, life is good!

Woohoo, thankful for your hubby, John, Colleen. And, I have to say you taking such excellent care of him while he was in the hospital, and recovering, has a LOT to do with him recovering so quickly and so well. Same to others of you with spouses you take care of through thick and thin. WTG!!!
I have to do the dreaded colonoscopy on Thursday, so Wednesday is NOT going to be a fun day. Clear liquids all day, and then the dreaded "drink" and trips to the bathroom. Ho hum .... wonder if they will call to bump me again, due to someone else needing the spot for their important surgery?! ;)

Back in my Hospital days, we would refer to the tube as the "white snake" (not the band). Pucker up, buttercup. LOL

Routine. Don't sweat it (no bum....I mean pun.....intended).

Never had one of those things, I hate to admit hat I have not had a "detailed" checkup at the doctor for quite some time.... like decades! I have had my blood presure checked, my eyes checked regularly, and dental, but that is it. I have a phobia when it comes to things like that... I know, give me shit, I should know better.

CE I sure hope everything goes good for you too. My hubby goes every three month regular checkups in Calgary. They shove some horrid tube down his nose to see everything all the way down. He hates it, but at least it givesthe doctor a good look and that is good.
I also credit his success to the old puppies, they snuggled him when he first got out of the hospital, and they provided so much love and confort. To this day, the puppies still snuggle him and jump for joy when he comes home. Hubby spoils the old puppies.

When I hear people answer like yours, Colleen, I have to wonder if you are worried about something that is wrong, and don't want to face it, don't have insurance, or simply have a phobia about doctors. I knew a woman who smoked a lot, had all her life, and refused to go to the doctor ever. One day she will have lung cancer, and I think she knows it, and then she will deal with it. The sad part is that her kids will have to deal with the worst part of their mother's life. But, I guess that's her life, and I have no reason to interfere. She used to work in our office, and when there were free blood screenings provided, I jumped on the chance, she said "no way!". Other than smoking, I don't know of anything else. Guess she didn't want a lecture about quitting.
As to the procedure, yep, it's a good purging. Seems like my body is "cleaning out" last couple of days anyhow, maybe getting pre-ready! I've had one before, and there is no pain, it's just the prepping for it that everyone despises. I will drink that stuff grudgingly and have my test, and then have the rest of the day off! :)

We have full medical care, I have no excuse. I never smoked tobacco, just the odd funny green stuff. I have my head in the sand, my brother is much worse, he has never had a checkup for anything since my mother forced him to go to the dentist like 45 years ago! My 51 year old pregant sister who should be having the baby by now is worse, she never seen doctor and is going to give birth at home! Even I would not be that dumb!
Last time I had a "down their" check up was like in 1999, then they said I may have cancer and sent me to the cancer clinic. For a month I sweated bullets and cried. I was never so scared in my life! So then once I got to the clinic, everything checked out just fine, nothing was wrong, but I was so scared after that I never went back! Give me sh*t!! I have my head in the sand now....

Hubby was bad too, he never went to doctor for full check up untll his mouth cancer showed up! He knew something was wrong early and went to several appointments with dentist and doctor and they first said nothing was wrong, for a good six months they said he was fine and test showed no cancer, but his ear nose and throat doctor said even though tests turned out negitive, he said he did not like the "look" of the then small growth under his top lip. Six months later that little lump grew so big is was just freaky! It grew from his top lip, pushed out teeth, grew to his inside hard and soft pellet (inside roof of mouth) and he tried o hide it from me, but when he talked, the cancer was hanging down and then when he ate, his mouth would bleed cause the cancer was so large by then that he would accidently bite it while eating. It was the most horrid thing I had ever saw in my whole life. I cried all the time for him and just wanted to die with him. Thank God he surived the horrid 15 hour surgery and extra long recovery. I think after that I just went mental on the garden and tried to make it Heaven here on Earth, planting more and more flowers every year. That was my way of dealing with the stress...
