I just noticed some really large holes in an area I filled back in after digging out a large piece of concrete last fall. There are at least 5 holes in that area (10x20' area or maybe larger), and I have no idea what they could be if not rats! Now I want to dig up the area just to see what is under there. Maybe set a live trap, but don't want to catch any of my outside cats or dogs either. Trying to figure a way .... wait, if I put the live trap inside the kennel, with the door closed, surely whatever is in the new area just outside the kennel will come in there to get some free food, right?! I think I will have to see if I can locate my live trap and do just that! If I have rats, it will be the first time I've known that since I lived here. Don't even see mice, except the occasional one in the house in the winter. I'm pretty sure there are mice in the dog shed (connected to the kennels), but once I get that resided, that should take care of that! Wood on that building is rotted at the base, but it has a concrete floor, so should be easy to seal. That is next spring's project with tax refund money ....
