My Boston has been itching and scratching, pretty sure she is allergic to something, and hate it that she is so uncomfortable all the time. Her belly is even pinkish, so I know it's sore. Bad me, I should take her to the vet, too, but wonder what they can really do for her. I had never heard of a shampoo with benedryl! I bet that would help. I also wondered about giving her some benedryl liquid for kids, just a very small dose, but had to medicate her, she's pretty small at 12#. No fleas, either, as I could easily spot them on her short hair, and pretty much no hair on her belly, where fleas usually congregate. Both other dogs scratch some, too. Maybe I need to find one dog food and stick with it. They seem to get tired of one kind (or maybe they just have me trained to put other goodies on it to help them eat it!!!), so I switch foods each time. Try to buy good quality food, too, not cheap stuff. This time I got lamb, which is supposed to be mildest on dogs, right? We shall see if any changes occur.

CE you can give them baby benedryl, tab or liquid at the rate of 1ml per pound of weight, i.e. 5 lb dog = 5ml of benedryl. Also get the oatmeal or burts bee type dog shampoo. There is one for dogs with allergies. The benedryl shampoo will be used if I see her skin getting pink again, ow washing her with the burts bee shea butter, honey shampoo, no additives. Or as the vet said maybe once a week with the benedryl shampoo The script shampoo is 24 bucks for 12 ounces.

Very, very disappointed by the actions of a lady living a few houses down from us. She has a mature cotton wood tree in her backyard. It is easily visable by many neighbors. Each year her tree would be filled by newly arriving large red breasted robins. We can only assume she was annoyed by the trees large leaves falling into her back yard. Last week she had a crew of tree hackers come cut the top out of that long standing tree. Now the robins will have to find a new home for their yearly roosting habitat. No respect for nature and the many gifts of beauty that God has bestows upon us.

Seems like a pattern when intercity dewellers move into clean nice, naturalized neighborhoods. Anything that requires cleanup is hacked to pieces. Two other urban transplants totally cut their trees down. One tree was a beautiful mature Chinese Pistachio and the other was a Water Oak. Over 90% of the trees in our small neighborhood were planted when the homes were built. It has taken 20 years for our area to be blessed with mature trees. Before careful cultivation this area was barren. A sad day indeed. This is not the concrete jungle!

On our way to dinner I saw a lady standing by the street holding up a sign advertising $5 haircuts at her new beauty shop. Our small city has many good, ambitious citizens constantly opening miscellaneous shops. Sadly, most of these small business close after a few months. Folks simply trying to make a meager living. Soo many failures. I wish these folks had better access to business planning help. If they did they would quickly learn if their niche businesses had a feasible chance of survival. Misinformation and poor business acumen brings about doom in the commerical sector especially in our local market.

Good points there, Lou. Usually neighborhoods around here have requirements for cutting down any trees. And, you are not allowed to fill in a pond either! That's a natural wetland, no matter how shallow it is. I want to dig mine out deeper, but right now don't want to spend the money, but when I suggested closing off half of it, making the other half normal in depth, I was told by neighbor "better do it when no one is looking, cause they will come down on you for removing part of that wetland". Well, good for those who watch out for things like that!

I don't like that I can't tell what are messages I have not read vs ones I have any longer. On my "alerts" page, it shows ALL messages posted on threads I follow. OK, I get that, but how do I know if I've read them or not? Before, just one line for each thread, and it was highlighted if there were unread messages. I'm having a hard time liking the new changes, but wondering if I'm just missing how to use it properly? Any help?
