Careful with those sweet treats, Lou. Many of them replace sugar mith fat, which isn't good for you either! Fat raises your BG hours later.

My hubby loves egg whites with spinach in them and I made him skinless chicken the other day with southwestern egg whites and then chopped spinach and dipped the chicken in the egg whites and then rolled in the the spinach and baked in the oven covered .My mothers was diabetic but that was long before all the new stuff came out .I was 10 when it was found so that was 50 years ago .My niece is a nurse and had childhood diabetes and she has learned a lot over the years and now wants to teach children how to control there diabetes ,Just because they make it does not always mean it is good .Just like a lot of the vitamins out there ,healthy diet is the best vitamin and what doctor prescribes is better .I know all my life I have taken prescribed vitamins since I eat no meat .

Good point John. Since the treats are labeled for diabetics I trusted them. Will carefully read the contents. Thanks John. How are you sir?
About as good as an icicle can be, Lou. :cold: Our temperatures are supposed to hang around between -10 and 10 F. for a week or two; hope the weather guy is wrong! :fingersx: As for the diabetes, 35+ years and no complications, so I'm not complaining. Keep your chin up, my friend! :cheerful:

Dang, that's really cold and for way too long! I will be in your boat for the next just 2 days. Going down to -1F tonight, only up to maybe 10 for a high tomorrow, and back down to 2 tomorrow night. Friday supposed to be 28 ... HEAT WAVE!!!
Check out this site. Just south of Effingham, this morning at 5:30 a.m., a semi driver went down a very steep and very long embankment, somehow stayed upright, after taking out 150' of guardrail, and cab ended up IN the Little Wabash River. He had to swim to shore, and then walked up the embankment, and along the shoulder of the interstate, until someone stopped and picked him up! It was in the teens this morning, but he only had on a tshirt and shorts! Wondering if he took off other clothing, after being in the frozen river, or if that is what he was wearing while he was driving. He is EXTREMELY lucky to be alive to tell that story. Here's the article local radio station put on their website, complete with photos and a video of the scene.
