2014 1st ever "Marijuana Bowl" between the Seahawks and Bronco's. Too bad it can't be held in either Seattle,Washington or Denver,Colorado(already the mile high city  ) to the delight of pot fans as it could be quite the all around pot fest. Someone suggested calling it "The Super Ooibe Doobie Bowl"
A marijuana bowl would be something no one would ever forget. The Super Bowl on its own makes for its own hype, placing pot in the whole mix will be quite a combination.
It is illegal for NFL players to use marijuana even if they live in a state that legalizes pot since it is banned under the league’s "collective bargaining agreement." There are lobbyists pressuring the NFL organization to stop penalizing players who fail drug tests over the presence of marijuana in their system. They believe it may actually help them with concussions or other forms of injury. The National Hockey League only tests for performance-enhancing drugs and laws on marijuana use are relaxing for Olympic athletes.
For the states where marijuana is outlawed completely, they've actually had a difficult time in the postseason. The Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints and Cincinnati Bengals all come from states that have not decriminalized pot. Go figure.
"If you noticed, the more marijuana-friendly localities really kicked butt," Fox said. "I don't know what it really means in the grand scheme of things, but it's a nice bit of karma if nothing else."
Pot legalization in a state making teams more successful? Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
A pro-marijuana billboard is seen near the Denver Broncos stadium in Denver on September 5, 2013.
