Watching a show with a character portraying a "shell shocked" British Army Korean War Vet. Shell Shock Disorder is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. My Uncle Marshall, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, spent his entire post war life in a veterans hospital due to PTSD. I understand he was a fine upstanding soldier, patriot and man. God rest his soul.

you dont have a cell phone?
Nope! My musings are not so important that I have to be on the phone 24/7. I DO have a phone in the house, and if anyone wants to get in touch with me they can leave a message, and I'll get back to them whenever I feel like it! :cheerful:

the only reason I have a cell is if I go out and truck breaks down or there is an emergency I can contact people .Won't pay extra on my phone for texting .I would rather hear someones voice not some random text .Makes me feel like they don't want to speak to me .I am with you haro

Got my first cell phone in the 80's hard wired into my mazda rx7. My late husband traded a 3 wheel atv for it, $700 and it cost $1.00 a minute to use it. I was on call at hospitals, told him one night I ended up behind a store in a dark area trying to find a public phone that worked. Scared to death in a real bad area of town. I have had one ever since.

Usually on the lowest minute plan, except when new honey and I where long distance dating, then it was on the highest plan (I had no house phone after hubby died didn't need it so terminated the cost)

Now have a smart phone, love having the internet when we move around, hubby loves to be on the go, and now he is retiring we will be even more on the go. Easy way to check the house and pond via the security system, check email for any calls that come into the house, the magic jack sends me a email with the voice mail attached ($19 bucks a year for magic jack). With the magic jack app running on the phone if someone calls the house our cell phone rings, we can answer without using the cell phone minutes. And call without using the cell minutes.
We spend $35 a month for the phone, 300 minutes, unlimited text and data. Most of our renters prefer to text, we prefer it too, good record of what is going on.

We have to be reachable with renters, one day we won't have any..............maybe lol

The one phone is a hot spot it gives us the internet where ever we are. We just have to turn it on, $15 bucks a month when we want to use it. Works pretty darn good too.
All of our bills are electronic so being able to see and read emails is pretty important, check the back account on and on.
