I burn all my papers and today I burnt lots of old IRS tax papers and old refinance stuff and renters documents from years gone by. Never owned a shredder and never will. Have more to burn as I go through lots of junk. We live out in the country where burning is still allowed. I suppose someday you won't be able to burn anything anywhere but until then I burn.

I never did catch that little turtle in the big pond :( I hope he's gonna be ok. Does anyone know what I could do to help him? Maybe put a shallow bowl of clay or mud In the bottom of the pond? There are caves in the one side of the pond, maybe he'll hibernate in there?

Here are photos of the trees and terrible soil In our area. They grow to huge proportions. These trees are just about the only thing that grows in our areas native whitish, high lime, chalky soil. To have a nice yard you have high grade soil brought in by the truck load. Every good tree has been planted by someone. :bouncycig:

The bottom ones look like pine trees. Don't know what the top 2 are tho do you?
I do not know the species. The trees you see dominate. Oddly, there are bands of excellent soil in the midst of the useless ground. I will try to learn more about our mystery trees. There is one bright spot. If you have a small to medium sized tree it can be pruned into a lovely specimen. Pruning seems to limit growth.

The trees look like may some type of cedar, Lou. Will be interested to hear what you have in those pics.
Fishy, if the baby turtle is still in your pond, I suspect he will stay there through the winter. I have no idea where my turtles go, but they are usually gone before it begins to get cold. I wonder if they move to the farm pond to hibernate, or if they are still in the ponds, maybe hiding in the wild bog by the goldfish pond and I just can't see them. Try not to worry. If he doesn't make it, you will know next time to get him out before he hides so well. I hope he makes it, though!
