I liked it Lou and do you belong to a writing group or forum or do you just do it all on your own?
Bullfrog here likes to write also and think he belongs to a writing forum where they critique each others stuff and help each other along. He's written several books and had them published. I'm sure you could pick his brain a bit on the steps he took to get them published. Best of luck on this new adventure and I'm no expert on writing but I think you would be good at it too

I was "off the net" for the past week, will try to catch up on the threads I follow later. Was in UT with my daughter after her surgery to remove her "hardware" from ATV accident 4 years ago and they put in 12 screws, 2 rods and a bracket into her spine. Wow, I could not believe how large those screws were - 2"! Anyhow, here is me and my daughter in her back yard ... I call those "her mountains". Beautiful view!

But, the highlight of my trip ... and I can say this because daughter is not on this forum LOL ... was meeting "Pecan" in her absolutely stunning yard! I had my daughter take this pic of us, in front of her pond.
Me and Liz (Pecan).JPG
This pic can't possibly show all the beauty in her yard. Everything was in full bloom, green, lush, beautiful. Timing was perfect. I do so much oooohing and aaaahing that she probably thought I was being fake, but I was not. It was just that gorgeous. And, how much fun to meet one of our fellow ponders in person! We both said it would be a fun summer to travel around and meet everyone that we chat with on this forum, see their "masterpieces" in person. I've also been to Sheetmetalman's pond, he's only about 30 miles from me. I can see trips in the future that I will be sure to plan ahead and see about visiting other ponders. What fun!!!
Thanks again, Pecan, for allowing us to view your masterpiece. It truly made my day.

We had to go to a rental to install some security lights, the lil wife got nervous about some car break ins. So we drove another 45 minutes to have lunch at one of our favorite places, Fishermans Inn and crab deck on Kent island.

What a beautiful day! Only 79, breeze blowing, sun out. While eating maryland blue crabs............yummy.............. I saw a water snake, (looked like a moccasin) fed the ducks, then the fish started attacking the crab lungs and gooey stuff you don't eat I was tossing into the water. Big fish, looked like sea trout.

It is an open deck restaurant and an enclosed restaurant, the open deck is only open in the summer, we always eat near the water. Maybe next year when he retires we will dock our boat here for the summer. Too pricey if you don't have the time to enjoy it.

The view from our table.

Heading out to the eastern shore this am for a much needed vacation. 3 days in St. Michaels and then 4 in Ocean City. Haven't had a vacation in at least 5 years and then only a couple of days due to the furry children. Have tons (7lbs) of food set out and 9 water bowls. We will be coming home in between the 2 trips for my dentist appt. so will restock as needed. Fishies will have to fend for themselves. Had a customer call yesterday wanting sfish so guess I wil be doing a roundup when I get back. The new fish trap is already in the big pond.
Eberybody have a good week-

Mrs. Clem, please describe your "fish trap". I have some fish I would like to sell/give away (not right now out of the goldfish pond, having problems there ...) and so far the only way I have found it relatively easy to catch fish was before plants started growing, and at night, using a flashlight to somewhat blind the fish. I assume with a fish trap, you get what comes into the trap, and can't pick and choose for the ones to sell, right? And, maybe you have only fish you want to sell in that particular area. Just curious.
Lou, that was really neat!!!

CE- I built a box out of pvc pipe (3x3x5) and covered all sides except one with net. I put it in the pond with the open side facing out into the pond. Fish swim in, I flip box up and instant fish trap! Suggestion- if building a large fish trap, do it outside as it may not fit thru the doors and you will have to take it apart to get it outside!

Because a shooing spree that occurred last night in Dallas and Desoto, TX (where we live) made the national news I wanted to let you know we are okay. The gunman shot and killed two females in Dallas then drove to Desoto were he first threw a homemade explosive device into a home folllowed by weapon fire. Two more females were killed. Desoto Policemen captured the killer at the scene. The motive is supposedly a relationship breakup. We live 3.3 mile from the Desoto shooting site. Such a shame.
